Dear fellow VJ'ers,

I am trying to find out the process that happens on the day of your interview in Mumbai India. We paid AOS, Mailed AOS. Waiting for IV Bill after that will send the DS-230 with all Originals and Copies. What I am trying to find out is when you get a Packet IV what do we need to do.

Do we get the visa same day we are approved? Can we collect at the end of the day?

Do we need to be in touch with VFS office? If so when do we contact them before Interview/After?

Our original Embassy was in Chennai and have moved to Mumbai, so do we contact VFS in Mumbai or Chennai? It says to contact one closest to you.

Do we need to submit any documents or any fees to VFS?

Do we have to pay any fees at the Embassy or if we paid AOS and IV we are good?

Which hospital did you get the medical done and how many days did it take to get the report.

Yes, can collect the visa same day at VFS Mumbai if approved. But sometimes, it is available next day for pick up.

Prior to your interview, you just would need to visit at VFS office ( once ) to submit the doc that was mentioned in packet 4.

Our original Embassy was in Chennai and have moved to Mumbai, so do we contact VFS in Mumbai or Chennai? It says to contact one closest to you.

Yes, contact to one closest to you.

Do we need to submit any documents or any fees to VFS?

Yes, packet 4 with VFS fee. You can check the latest fee for VFS at their official website.

Do we have to pay any fees at the Embassy or if we paid AOS and IV we are good?

If it is already paid, then you dont pay anything at Mumbai Consulate.

Which hospital did you get the medical done and how many days did it take to get the report.

Had medical exam in Chennai, it was super easy! They gave the report NEXT DAY. Pretty fast!

Hope it helps.

I was reading in VFS it says to submit original birth certificate and such. We are already submitting Original Birth Certificate to NVC. How can we submit birth certificate again? Do you happen to know what you had submitted to VFS?

Dear fellow VJ'ers,

If the visa is approved, more often than not, you can pick it up the same evening from VFS.

Do we need to be in touch with VFS office? If so when do we contact them before Interview/After?

Yes. You will need to submit the documents mentioned on your IV packet as well as the medical report four days prior to your interview to VFS. Mind you, it is four working days, not just four days, so exclude any Sat/Sun/public holidays that fall in between.

Our original Embassy was in Chennai and have moved to Mumbai, so do we contact VFS in Mumbai or Chennai? It says to contact one closest to you.

Yours would be VFS Chennai then, but if you're suggesting documents to VFS Chennai, please do ensure that you submit them 7 to 10 days before the date of interview. Which means you'll need to get your medicals done well in advance.

Do we need to submit any documents or any fees to VFS?

Yes. All documents mentioned on your IV packet as well as the VFS courier charges.

Do we have to pay any fees at the Embassy or if we paid AOS and IV we are good?

You don't pay anything.

Which hospital did you get the medical done and how many days did it take to get the report.

In South India, it's The Apollo Heart Centre, 156 Greams Road, Chennai 600 006, Telephone: 91-44-60601066 OR Dr. Rajkumar Songa at DrRajKSongaUS@gmail.com

Vijaya Diagnostic Center, #3-6-16 & 17, Street #19, Himayath Nagar, Hyderabad – 500 029. In Mumbai, it'll be at the Lilavati Hospital.

I was reading in VFS it says to submit original birth certificate and such. We are already submitting Original Birth Certificate to NVC. How can we submit birth certificate again? Do you happen to know what you had submitted to VFS?

I submitted my original BC as well as a photocopy to NVC, but I'm submitting a photocopy at VFS too. If you've submitted original/certified copies to NVC, then all you need to do is to submit a photocopy to VFS.

Just submit the photocopies! That is it! Since all original doc are with NVC.
