Thinking of a divorce after his Visa approval a week ago.

I covered this sideways, but here it is again.

The Petitioner can contact the IV Unit and tell them/notify them that:

1. Petitioner is filing for divorce and

2. Petitioner is withdrawing the affadavit of support.

That's all that is required. Not need to pile on any evidence of fraud - it's enough, these 2 things, to bring all to an end with THE VISA.

The IV unit would be the Embassy?

Yes I am confused right now, but I need to know where this can head and all the comments are helping. I just need the courage now to go through with the divorce.

The only thing that stops me is, what if Im hurting his future. What hurts is that perhaps the way he acts is part of his culture. He's never had a girlfriend. And maybe he's right about my American beliefs. In his country affection is not openly shown. His parents don't show it. Over here, my parents still go on little dates and my dad keeps on buying little gifts or treats for my mom. I cant expect him to be like that. Ive told him after not receiving a Birthday gift about 2 months after marriage that I hope he at least give me a gift for valentine. Nothing. After crying the whole night, he bought me something the next day. I threw his first Birthday party. He was impressed. He said he bought me something for my birthday but he didnt send it. For his birthday i felt bad and sent him a laptop hoping hed use it to communicate with me more. Ive even paid to a skype line so that it doesnt cost him anything to call me. Am I expecting too much or is it part of the Pakistani culture? This guy has never abused me.

Does anyone have experience with men changing in the US? If so, maybe ill give it a shot. Mom says when he sees how everyone is, he may act like others. Even in med school, my friends were pretty much pakistanis that have lived abroad. I dont want to stereotype but the locals did seam reserved but that could just be me.

And when he does come here, is it esay to get a divorce? If I go there next week, then i would want to know how to process it there?

no no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no man should treat any woman like that... it will hurt YOUR future if you have him come to you and his intentions are all wrong.. YOU end up paying the price for that... IM damn lucky that my husband was brought up in a home in karachi full of unconditional love was taught respect and what love was and how to take care of his wife even if it meant cooking or cleaning and ironing... yes he was taught ironing...

No you should NOT worry about his future... you should be worried as hell about your own right now.... do what protects you... otherwise you are responsible for him for a very very long time....and btw mental and emotional abuse can be worse than physical abuse...

I bought the tickets with OneTravel, $50 bucks to cancel and I can only use the tickets for the same destination. So I still loose ~$1300 plus $50. Since I'd have no reason to go after the divorce. I called them up like 3 times to make sure. after he told me he'd come as soon as he got his visa. In his reply email telling me not to get a divorce he told me I should come for his brothers wedding. I shouldn't have listened.

I filed a K-3 Spouse, I-165 and parents I-165a. Remember i didnt make income in 2011 as I was in Pakistan. So i will have to revoke both right?

There's no such thing as an I-165. It's more than likely an I-864 and I-864a which is a little odd for a K visa unless they request it. Usually it's I-134.

you are the primary sponser, you filed the I-134.

your parents are a co/joint sponser, they filed the I-134 as well.

but

their I-134 is useless without yours, they cannot be his main sponser on this at all.

So only need to revoke YOURS, as the underlying I-134 will fall apart, as the PRIMARY SPONSER's sponsership is being withdrawn.

I don't think I-134 means anything. It just shows them you pass the money test. I-864 on the other hand is legally binding.
