I started reading, mostly lurking, VJ around 2009-2010, when a lot of the 04-08 ladies were still posting. I read a ton of the archives, too. Most of y'all don't know me at all, but I hope the people this thread is directed to are all doing well. By posting in this forum, you've informed and at times entertained me and in some ways I feel like I shared your journeys a bit. Um, not in a stalker way. :bonk: But aww, shucks, it's like watching an all-star reunion here!

I feel the same as you...I came in mid 09, and although the guides were good, how I really learned about immigration was reading all of what these ladies had to say in MENA. And boy, how naive I was back then to the process, and the politics of MENA. I always appreciate honest, straight forward answers. I am also glad that even after the visas are issued, that people still hang around, because immigration is more than just getting the visa, it is the whole life after. I have yet to endure that part of the process, but have gotten some great advice from others way ahead of me. I, too, have also met some wonderful people here, and can't see myself going too far, as I want to pay it forward now with others going through this process.

Never give up on anything God has told you to believe for; never quit doing anything He has clearly shown you to do. Your diligence will pay off with a blessing from God." -Joyce Meyers

I am around sometimes! Class of 04-07, although we got married in 2005. That was when Amman SUCKED. JP, Jackie, Amal, and Kelly were the most active posters from Jordan at that time, but we had some others as well-- Wendy, TSK, AngelK96, Ainfante, Lisa, Gwen, Lionlioness, etc. Still married, and oddly enough more or less doing what we said we would. In school foreverrrrrrr. Now we've even taken a class together which pretty much defines ultra-boring-- exactly how we've always been.

Oh also forgot to say we filed K3 but ended up doing CR-1 since that hit first.

My husband, Ouadia, decided to change his name to Wade when naturalizing. No lie...I think it was a hasty decision.

my husband has talked about changing his looooong and impossible to spell berber last name to something short and sweet, his mother's last name. but he talks about lots of stuff. and then would i change our daughter's name, or...blah blah blah.

Yah somewhere near the beginning of all the questions ask if you are requesting a name change. He is changing it to Adam & does not want a middle name & is changing his last name as well. I was like why can't your last name be Hosny so I can be Mrs. Tamara Hosny! Lol

Nah this part is too easy IMO. He just filed it on April 12th & we just checked our case status & it says they mailed him the apptment letter for his biometrics. I was guessing he'd be done by his bday around Sept, but as fast as its going I'd be elated if he was done by our anniversary in July!
