Questions On Stage 2 Forms

I-134

The guides on here says to gather copies of pay stubs, letter from employer, etc but I don't see a mention of that on the form itself. Is that just best practises from the forumers?

So I fill this out and send it to the beneficiary to take to interview?

On employment, I'm a Consultant. Supposing I am in between contracts/assignments at the time I need to fil this out, can a sponsor step in to assume complete financial responsibility?

On question #8, it asks to list persons that depend on me for support. Our children (from previous marriage) are living with their Mother fulltime in another state, I pay child support but do not have them on my taxes. So do I list them?

DS-156K

Evidence of engagement to your fiance.

What does Nigeria Embassy accepts? I mean we have an engagement ring but there was no formal reception.

Evidence of financial support. I take it that this means the I-134 that I filed out?

DS-156

Must this be filed out on a PC? My fiance does not have access to a computer and I'm leery of having all the information from this form on a computer at a cybercafe.

Additionally, I could have sworn that I read of a form to be filled out in duplicate on this forum for the embassy but it was not in the guides.

Thanks for your time.

PS:

One more bone of contention.

After my divorce I moved out of state due to employment (was paying child support from day one). About 7 months afterwards the state that my Ex lives in came up with an idea that I owe $X in back CS. Due to a new job out of state I was unable to go back to court to challenge it so I chose to let them just tack their proposed additional amount to the CS and I've been paying both. Now had I known about what was to come I should have probably fought it but months later I got all the nice notices in the mail regarding non renewal of my US Passport if back CS is still outstanding at time of renewal and intercept of my tax refunds, if any.

How does the above tale affect my application? If it does at all, when will I get the impact? Here in the USA during the checks or at the embassy during that check over there, if at all?

I-134: Most consulates go by the instructions and guidelines for the I-864, even when using the I-134. So yes, you will need a letter from employer, most recent year's tax transcript and a few months worth of your most recent pay stubs to prove your income.

If you need a co-sponsor, and your consulate accepts them, you can ask any USC or LPR residing in the US to co-sponsor for you. They will need to fill out their own I-134, provide all the same documents as you do, plus proof of being a USC or LPR. They need to make 125% of the poverty level for their own household size plus the beneficiary: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

All your dependent children children under the age of 21 count for your household, not matter where they where live, or if you claim them on your taxes or not.

DS-156K: The evidence of engagement is a letter of intent to marry. You need to write up a new one for the consulate. Yes, evidence of financial support is your I-134 and supporting documents that go with it.

DS-156: Yes, you can print out the form and fill out with a pen. Just make sure it is all legible.

Hmm DS-156 is the one to be filled in online and that generates a barcode... not sure if this can be printed out and filled by hand as you say Jay-Kay.

OP, read the INSTRUCTIONS of the I-134 form, it DOES say you need to provide supporting evidence.

Ahhh, you are right. My bad, sorry. Thanks for catching that.

Scratch what I said above. The DS-156 needs to be filled in online because it generates a barcode based on the information you enter.
