Please copy the e-mail here because this seems strange. (remove any personal informations before, like names or receipt number).

BTW, why have you written "Chicago lockbox" as a filing location on your profile?

Whoa!

Are you talking about Form I-797c-NOA1, or Form I-797-NOA2? Your timeline indicates that you submitted your I-129F petition on 12 April 2012.

Depending on where you live, I-129F petitions are sent either to the Vermont Service Center or the California Service Center.

If it is NOA1, congratulations your petition was accepted for processing, now comes the 4-6 month wait before you may get your NOA2 notice. :guides:

Good luck on your visa journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

For sure USCIS does not mention NOA2, I will bet all they said is you will receive written notice of them receiving your packet within 7-10 days. You still have lots of waiting time ahead of you.

Yes, this.

All petitions are mailed to the Dallas lockbox (not sure why your profile says Chicago), and are sent to either Vermont or California for processing. The NOA2 is an approval notice for your petition. There is no way you will be getting an approval of your petition in only 7-10 days. I think you misunderstood what the notice was telling you. Your petition was received and sent to Vermont where it will be adjudicated. You will receive your NOA1 receipt in the mail in about 7-10 days. Then you will wait months for the actual NOA2 approval notice.

Slow down!. Don't start freaking out now. If you do, you will not have any hair to pull later. I'm 1 month in and just about ready to start pulling hair (already chewed all my finger nails). I'm quite sure we all feel your pain and the main reason we're here is to try and make this bitter pill a bit easier to swallow.
