Typically no, but it will depend on the amount of time she is allowed when she enters.

Teddy, I found this for you from a legal advice site:

What if I want to stay in the U.S. on a B-2 tourist visa longer than I planned?

A B-2 visitor is always allowed to change their mind after they arrive. A visitor can stay in the U.S. longer, where the form I-94 allows a longer stay. The challenge is, how will you support yourself if you cannot lawfully work? What will happen to your career, or job, when you return to your home country? Why have you changed your mind? A visitor should seriously consider the consequences to their immediate family and their ability to keep a job in their home country.

I won't be continuing the conversation in your other thread for obvious reasons. Hoping you will get some more response here in the next few days.

Just to let others know, Teddy's friend received her tourist visa, and at her interview she indicated she planned to come to the US for a month. Now that it looks like they will both have some extra time they would like to extend the visit to 90 days, but not staying past the amount of time indicated on the I-94. (I have seen some Russians with I-94s good for 90 days, but I am sure some have gotten more time) Anybody see any problem with this?
