My fiance' is from Scotland and is a MAJOR Celtic fan. I don't want him to come here and have to give up watching his games. I know that on DirectTV they carry a channel called Setanta(sp?) and they play the Celtic games; not live 2 days after the original game. I currently have DirectTV, but they're really starting to piss me off, price increase, crappy service calls, etc. I'd hate to think they're my only choice, but I will stay with them if they're my only option for Patrick watching the SPL. He's also really into watching Scotland play the other countries in football and rugby, those are a little less important, but I know he would appreciate being able to watch it. Any information would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi I'm from Scotland also and my team is Rangers who I'm sure your fiance has told you all about the fierce rivalry.I go to a local supporters club near me to watch the games live as they happen, look on Celtic's official website and it will give you supporters clubs all over America hopefully there will be one near you,as for tv there are not much alternatives all the stations here appear to cater for the english premiership, also if you have broadband Celtic (god I hate typing that name ;) ) may have a direct link up with Setanta to show games over the computer live, hope this helps.

Regards David

Yes I know that, so what are Man Utd doing there ;)

Regards David

Man U kicked Keane to the curb and they were falling all over themselves to sign him. Celtic has him starting.

Let's not get into a fight about football. The SPL would have a better league if they had the money that the English premiership gets. It's all about money.

It is a little frustrating that the stations all seem to carry the English Premiership, as if no one watches Scotland. But what can you do? Perhaps I could email the cable carriers around here and get them to sign up with Setanta.

you could just cut your losses and start supporting a local US soccer team...they are a bunch of fun to watch...the Mexican teams are great too.

Or you could totally bite the bullet and start watching Football....I love college football now, it's such a blast and the rivalries are just as much fun.

Weird, the first time I actually watched a UK team live was when i saw Man U play Club America in LA. Now that was fun - me and my buddies kept yelling horrific things at the players in Spanish and they didn't know what we were saying...good times.

While we're on the subject though, Man United were trying to persuade Keane to stay and Keane decided that since he'd been playing in England for 14 years that he wanted something new. Did you see the Liverpool game? Looks like you could do with a Keane in the middle of the park. Darren Fletcher? Top player?? HA!
