I leave Jun 17th and arrive Jun 19th a day before our little one's birthday she will be 4. It is a total surprise for her. I wanted to get there during the day so after pre-k. mom and her could pick me up. Usually when I go it is very late at night when i arrive. So when I booked the flight I told the agent I needed to arrive during the day. I did not know I was going to have to go to two different airports. I did save 1250.00 dollars on a round trip ticket and I now know why.

Yes, i will have to go through customs and everything...

I suggest you carefully check the fine print where you purchased your air tickets and consider the cost of cancellation/re-routing options. There is always a way.

Haneda to Narita by taxi is going to run you a minimum of Y25,000($311.50 USD) and the cost goes up around midnight when all the public bus and train service stops running. After you make the 80 mile trip to Narita Airport, you will find that it is closed between 2300 and 0600.

The Haneda - Narita shuttle bus (www.limousinebus.co.jp) leaves HND 0740 arrives NRT 0905, not enough time.

Do you like public transportation in the middle of the night? Get the late night Keihin Kyuko bus from Haneda International Terminal's Bus Stop #6 Y1,000 going to Shinagawa Railway Station at 0040 (http://hnd-bus.com/route/nightmorningbus.html#shinagawa). Then hang around and catch the JR East Railway Narita Express train Y3,110 departing 0605 arriving NRT Terminal 2 at 0716. (http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/timetables/index.html).

A taxi from Haneda Airport to downtown Toyko is around Y8,000-10,000 that time of night.

This option will run you $51USD HND-NRT.

Happy Trails!

I did find another option after getting pointed in the right direction.

Haneda to Tokyo City Air Terminal either the 23:15 or 00:15 Bus (1600 yen)

then

Tokyo City Air Terminal to Narita Terminal 2 at 0545 and arriving at 0645 (2900 yen)

I put this here incase someone else runs into the problem i had.

Thank you again for all the suggestions and pointing me in the right direction.

I will let everyone know how it goes.

aam - Thanks, that would be a good transfer point also and they are open 24 hrs. I mentioned Shinagawa as there budget/backpacker hostels in the immediate area where you may want a nap, shower or Starbucks. TCAT is about as safe and public of a place as it goes. See if you can buy your TCAT-NRT train ticket in advance on the Internet. Change some money into YEN at home or at Haneda and travel as light as possible, the early trains become extra full.

Let us know how it goes. Good luck to you and Happy Trails.

and shops, Starbucks, etc
