That's why I eat as many burgers as I can. I'm going to get the heart attack, might as well enjoy the burgers along the way.

I think about that when I see an ambulance go by. "I hope that guy didn't pass on the dessert cart"

They do have cheeseburgers right?star_smile.gif

I'm boycotting them, si man. I looked at their menu, see man, and they didn't have a Ventricular Septal Defect burger, no man.

I shall petition them to add a Anomalous Coronary Artery Arising from the Opposite Sinus of Valsalva (ACAOS) burger, gee man.

Edited to add, see man: If they have a bar area, they ought to have little peanut-bowls filled with statin pills for the clientele to munch on, whee man.

Seriously for a fleeting moment (aack, gag): What an absolutely ingenious marketing concept they have, si man.

So what? You do not believe in freedom of choice?

My choice is clean air! If they can smoke without their toxins getting into my lungs then everything is great!

I thought this was about burgers. But OK. If your choice is clean air why not go to another burger joint? "Choice" means YOU choose and YOu accomodate YOUR choice. It does not mean everyone else has to accomodate it. The owner of this restaraunt pays his money to establish his business, risks his money and who is someone else to tell him if you can smoke on his own property? It is a business decision. I am sure if he feels he is losing more money than he can gain by allowing smoking, then he will hang out the "no smoking" signs.

Rights protect the unpopular choice, not the popular one.

It's a private business that serves the public. Lots of rights are curtailed in private businesses that serve the public, that are curtailed in the interest of public health and safety. Public health and safety require hand washing, proper clothing, and all kinds of other infringements on business owners' and employees rights, by law. Should those regulations be thrown out too? A restaurant should have the right to serve expired food, served by smoking, non hand washing waitresses, that was prepared by a shirtless, dirty handed chef possibly contaminating said food with

hair and bodily fluids. But it's all good because people can just eat somewhere else?

If I go to a Thai restaurant, but want a cheeseburger, and they dont offer them, that's not their problem. What is their problem though is offering food that is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, in a smoke free environment.

Is it wrong of me to say that this thread is making me hungry for BK? :help:

ok, that's all I wanted to say. Back to the original topic. :bonk:

Taste is subjective, but if you're going to have a burger, it should be from someplace better than that! Five Guys costs the same, and their food is actually worth the calories.

Since VSD's and ACAOS's are not consequences of those cholesterol laden gut bombs, maybe some other names would be appropriate. How about the 'Walmart waddler' burger?

If I am ever in that area I will have to try their fare!

Actually James, what you SHOULD do, is go to their establishment and wait to be seated. When the hostess comes...or paramedic, or whoever greets you...you should say "Oh I see you allow smoking, I am sorry but I cannot eat here because I will not expose myself to second hand smoke for an hour to eat an artery clogging cheeseburger...that would not be healthy"

See. That's how it works. Individual liberty, individual responsbility. If enough people do that then he hangs out the no-smoking sign. Not to mention how "reasonable" and intelligent it makes you appear.

BK? Be good to yourself and have a Double-Double (animal style) from IN-N-OUT.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.
