So im wondering.. after i send in all of paperwork when i get my NOA2, will the embassy keep everything? make copies of it or give it back? my husbands auntie is going to be cosponsering for me, she is worried that afterwards somebody is going to get her SSN etc.. and she asked me to destroy her paper work when he reaches here... but im wondering how long i have to have it? can i destroy it or should i keep it? i ensured her nobody other than the embassy, her nephew and myself is going to get her info.. but im not sure how long your supposed to keep it.. any response will help. Thanks <3

it's a permanent casefile. in the end, the foreign beneficiary hand carries all back to the USA, gives all to a CBP official at the POE, who then forwards the casefile on .

Is no concept of getting Auntie's stuff back, sorry.

well I kinda knew I wasnt going to get her things back from them, but is there a certain length I need to keep all of her info? or can I destroy it like she wants me to? also will I get my marriage cert. back and his birth cert? and pics etc.

I would keep the info till you are a US citizen, just in case.

You should be getting your originals of marriage and birth certs back, they will make/ keep the copies. They often forget though, so once the interview is over and they haven't handed it back, remind them.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

ok thank you. Yeh ill have have my husband tell him auntie that Ill have to keep it until he becomes a US cit. and also to remind them to give the important things back to us after his interview. thanks <3
