K1 Petition - Delays

The VJ Timeline provides estimated time frames, because the dates are calculated with other member's information.

With that said... You can always call and inquire about it, but most likely they will tell you " We are processing so and so month...." and leave you with the same anxiety.

Take a deep breath, find yourself something to keep your mind occupied..and before you know it, you'll get it good.gif If 5/6 months have passed, then start thinking about contacting someone who can help (a congressman for example)

Good luck on your journey smile.gif

MY VJ timeline suggest I should have received my NOA2 between April 18 and April 25. Is now April 27, Is it a good time to contact them or am I affected with the delay of processing.

Oh and BTW, I was just reading another post and someone pointed out that, the Service Center they had selected for their Timeline was Texas , just like you! Which is also a reason why you are getting incorrect data.... please edit your Timeline and select either the California or the Vermont Service Centers.

People tend to select Texas, because we mail the petition to a Dallas Lockbox, but that's simply a sorting facility. Your NOA 1 should tell you which Service Center you belong to... or .. if your Receipt number starts with W = Cali SC ... if it starts with E = Vermont.

Change that, and you should see a new date (you might even be way past it).

The timelines on VJ are just an estimate of the users on VJ and are not an accurate estimate of USCIS processing times. Give it 5-6 months for approval.

Wait at least the 5 months mark to call the USCIS... before, it's useless. So May 13th for you, if you still don't have any news from USCIS (approval/RFE/denial) by then. :)

Just a question, what is senator? ppl keep saying to look for him, who is he? is he gonna do much?

Thank YOu

A senator is an elected official from your state. They have liasons in Immigration that could help you (some can help, but not ALL of them have connections, I believe). They might be able to help you if you are past the projected 5 months for your NOA2. You'd have to contact their office to find out though.
