Ok, we filed and got NOA1, I know what happens at NOA2... but what about when it gets to the Consulates office? What happens next?

We are in Tijuana. The consulates office we would have to go to is in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. How does it work with the medical? Will we just show up and do the medical there and then the interview? It is too far away for me to be able to afford two trips. Like how does this work exactly?

In 2003 when I was approved with my first marriage... she NEVER got anything in the mail... but I did. We called a 900# in mexico, made an appointment and went to Juarez, did the medical one day and the appointment the next day. Later that evening we were in El Paso. Is it the same procedure? Will she have forms to fill out prior to going to Ciudad Juarez now? Does she have to mail them forms? Please give details for Juarez because the step by step guide confused me.

Thanks!

David

Once you get the NOA2, it will be sent to the NVC and then onto Juarez.

You can call the NVC to see if it has arrived in Juarez. You need to get your CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID # from the NVC before you can fill out the DS-260: 603-334-0700

Juarez will send a letter. The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You should go to the links listed in the letter. The letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-260.

Here are the forms: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html , instructions (very important to follow and they explain a lot): http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/packetk10412.pdf , and CDJ info: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

The ASC and interview must be scheduled, but the medical is still open and you just show up the morning that is best for you. I doubt you will be in and out of Juarez in 2 days. You could possibly manage only 3 days, if you set it up for DHL to mail your visa and sealed envelope to the city where you live instead of waiting in Juarez to pick it up. You can read the reviews from CDJ to see how other people arranged their schedules in Juarez and it went for them: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Mexico&page=1&dfilter=5

After approval at the interview, takes on average of about 2 days to a week to get the visa. So, if you stay in Juarez to wait for the visa, then you are looking at 5 days to 2 weeks? Most that post in the reviews or on the forum about how long it takes generally tend to get theirs in 2-3 days.
