I got an entry visa going to Mexico City from New York. But I flew from Mexico City to juarez with my wife (Fiancee then)a few days later. They did not ask for any visa within Mexico. They just check my passport. I think you do not need a visa if you are traveling within a certain distance from the border and for a short time. I went way down into Mexico that's why I need a tourist visa.

im driving from san diego to el paso and just use taxis it will be way cheaper that way.... but if you have the extra $$ for plane tickets good stuff and yea dont worry about the passport issue ur going to end up staying in a free trade zone anyways only when ur past that zone you will need a FMM which is a mexican immigration tourist card so your "legally" in mexico.
