Not legally if that is what you are asking.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Yes that is what I was meaning and why i was asking. I wasn't sure if it would be allowed - do the work in the US, but the money deposited into my Cdn bank acct.

Just needed to know if I needed to tell my clients that I would be mia for a few months when the time comes.

Thanks for the answer

Yes legally this is fine. As long as you are not working for an American employer, or in an American branch of a foreign employer, and are being paid in your Canadian account that's fine. It would be like you do some remote work (in your hotel) here in the US while on holiday... otherwise a LOT of people would get into trouble for answering emails/calls/messages from their foreign employers while on holiday in the US.

Remember you also need to file taxes and report this foreign income. Remember that that's all it is, foreign income.

That is why I answered whether it was legal.

I am sure many many people break that one and most get away with it.

At least 12 million for a start.
