will applying for tourist visa affect my approved k-1?

Hey Guys, I just had my noa2 k-1 approved and since my fiance is a pakistani canadian I know it will take more monthes before the interview and stuff. He lives in Canada as a permenant resident if he applies for a tourist visa to see me and he will return back to canada since he has a job there, will applying for a tourist visa affect my approved k-1. I was thinking he can atleast try and see if they will allow him that visa. Please let me know how it will affect and what you guys think is best? I know since the application is approved I should be patient but I really wish he would come here for my birthday and we can finally celebrate without me going there. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks guys!

From what I read in previous topics, he can but there's a strong possibility it will be denied, as applying for the K-1 shows an intent to immigrate (so they won't grant him a "tourist" visa)... But it won't affect your K-1 application.

They will not issue a tourist visa for him when he has clear immigration intent. You could always wait and celebrate your birthday when the K-1 is finished and he can move to the USA.

The K1 has not been approved yet, though the petition has.

Nothing to stop him from applying- he is unlikely to get it considering your in the K1 process, but a tourist visa denial will not affect the K1 unless he lies about something during the tourist visa process.

US permanent residents from ANY country of origin are allowed to enter Canada for visits, under the same rules as US citizens. Alla did so dozens of times as an LPR. She did not even have to show a passport, just her green card. Are Canadian permanent residents not afforded the same courtesy to enter the US?
