Hello VJ members! Wanted to let you all know visajourney has helped me a lot! I send my application (on my own  almost made the mistake of paying almost $400 extra) and everything is going good!! Soo thank you! BUT Im helping out my cousin, hes a u.s citizen who got married here in the u.s. His wife was brought here by her pearents when she was just 3 years old Illegaly, and was raised in L.A. They are now married with a beautiful 3 month old daughter and the want to start the process so she can become a permanent resident. I offered to help and investigate so they dont pay thousands to a lawyer, im not sure if they can do it on their own, so i need help to helo them LOL :bonk: . Oh yeah her sister with also got married to a U.s citizen and has a baby used a lawyer and she was able to get her green card in about 6 months with out habing to leave the u.s and having entered illegaly....is this only possible with the help of a lawyer or can they do it on their own!??

The best advice I can give you about this situation is to join immigrate2us.net. There are a lot of members on that forum that have been through the same situation as your cousin's wife, and many are from Mexico. There is great informational "stickies" written by immigration lawyers such as Laurel Scott who specializes in waivers and cases like your cousin's.
