Scheduling interview

Guys I got my letter from Juarez to process the visa and schedule the interview about three weeks ago.I was going to start helping mt fiancee with the ds 260 and the 156 forms monday night when she told me that she had lost her passport.Now we have to wait until she gets the new passport which is about 10 days in Mexico.My question is that on my petition it says it expires on June22 we should get it back soon enough to make the interview but between now and then do I need to contact them so they know we are still pursuing the visa but maybe if they see no action since mid april will they throw it somewhere and forget about it Thank you .Y;all have been so helpful

i wouldn't worry about it if i were you, a lot of people take a bit of time to get their paperwork in order....so i think you will be fine!

Regarding that expiration date, the Consulate has the ability to re-validate the petition if an interview has not yet taken place.

it takes two days at the most to issue a Mexican passport. Some offices may do it the same day.

The letter you have is important, the one that says go fill out DS-260 and make an appointment.

They'll ask for this letter everywhere you go. It may seem like a letter giving general information but in reality its your appoinment letter/invitation letter.

i wouldn't worry about it if i were you, a lot of people take a bit of time to get their paperwork in order....so i think you will be fine!

Lexandara My fiancee said that the agent told her that it takes about 2 weeks to get the new passport.Do you know if you can pay an expidite fee to get it in 2 or 3 days. She is in Puebla.It is a fairly big city.
