Some do, some don't. There's no obligation for them to provide them for you on the NHS since your leaving the country and it's elective, but some do. Mine were all free!

Yep,I do agree with you still I just very nicely explained to my GP that I was moving to the US and those shots were required by the US Embassy here in London and she just arranged the shots!I believe that is just about the way you come across telling your GP.

Good luck.

I've just gone this morning to ask my GP and she said they can do them easily (for free I assume), just need to arrange an appointment with the nurse at the practice. Although she suggested to check first my records as I should have done TDAP shots when I was little, pre-school and at 16 and it is meant to be for life, so she said. Since Im off for holidays, going to check my records back home in Italy, otherwise I'll have that done too.

May I ask you why you are getting your blood test done before the MMR shot?

Well you see it's just the matter of asking isn't? Okay I went to see my GP and she asked me if I had measles, mumps and rubella and I just said I can't remember and honestly I can't....so she requested a blood test to see how is my level of immunity against MMR and if is the case of having a shot and after a boost or just a boost!!

I asked my GP abt doing an antibodies blood test but she ignored me.. I had mumps and rubella, and I had been vaccinated for measles as a baby and rubella again when I was 9/10 altho I was sure I had it already. So I wonder, maybe I just need a boost.. She wasn't awfully knowledgeable on the matter, she excused herself by saying that usually it's the nurse dealing with this..

I might get this test done in Italy and see if the GP can sort of accept it and put it into its database..

I dont' want to do any vaccinations!!! :(

Trust me, do them now, rather than when you're in the USA. You'll save yourself a massive headache. It's only a needle!

I got mine as well, and it sure hurts, doesn't it? MMR hurt me a lot to get, but the pain didn't last. The TDAP seems to hurt for a few days.
