That's what worries me. If this is all a wind-up, poor pity the other K1's coming along who will read this, and worry, when most of the time that extra stress is not necessary.

Yooouuu hooo..OP! Time to give us a bit on information to go on here.

I am one of those K1's that just mailed off my petition. To be honest, this freaks me out a little bit. My fiance and I have talked about it and we were almost in a panic when I first read it. Now not only do we have the worry and stress of just getting to the interview and having the visa approved, we have to worry about actually getting him across the border. Guess there is no sigh of relief until he is in the states.

Live for today because you never know what tomorrow will bring!

simple take pictures and post it facebook so everyone know what your house look like.

Google street view has a very nice panoramic view of my house. I showed my wife how to view my house online while we were chatting. On my next trip to Vietnam I used Google street view to give her a virtual tour of my neighborhood, and even took her on a virtual drive from my house to her uncle's house, about 15 miles away. I also showed her the few notable highlights about my town that are worth seeing, and where a few of the better Vietnamese restaurants were. She saw all of this before she ever came to the US.

Something to keep in mind - CO's ask two kinds of questions; those they know the answers to, and those they don't. For the second type, they're just fishing to see if the beneficiary can provide a credible answer. For the first type, they want to know if the beneficiary knows the RIGHT answer. CO's DO know how to use Google, so anything they can find out about the petitioner with a search engine is something they can potentially ask the beneficiary about at the interview. Can your house be seen on Google street view, like mine can? If so then the CO knows what color your house is, how many floors it has, and even what kind of car is parked in the driveway. If a CO asks the beneficiary questions about the petitioner's house then they may actually know the right answer.

The same applies to CBP, ICE, and USCIS immigration officers. If the information is available online then they have access to it.

Don't let it scare you. This scenario is very unusual. I'm guessing the OP has figured out by now exactly why it happened, but might be a little embarrassed to come back and share the facts. Probably doesn't help that the OP was accused of possibly being a troll on page 3.

I will say it again. This is so rare an occurance that is begs many questions.

LAX deals with folks from Korea every day, (thousands of them). I have personally seen Korean interpreters at LAX.

For the agents at POE to turn around an approved K1, begs a lot of questions. They may have discovered something that the OP doesn't know.

If and when we get the rest of the story, I'll bet it will make sense.

PS - My family was not hassled at all, even though my step daughter was issued the wrong type visa and we didn't know it. They corrected in on the spot, issed a letter saying the consulate has screwed up, and sent them on their way.

LOL at your edit B-)

1. US citizens cannot be refused entry into the US for any reason.

2. It's the airline's responsibility to return anyone who is found to be inadmissible. So if you're refused entry, the airline is obligated to fly you back.

Actually that not very correct. The airline would not be responsible to cover the cost. If she was holding a valid K1 visa, the airline has done it job correctly to make sure can get access to the USA. They cant be hold liable for a decision, the COB made regardless of her paperwork.

Sort of. They can try to collect a fare after they fly the passenger back to their flight's origin but they seldom do.

I didn't read the entire thread, just the first and last pages but it does concern me that the OP refers to his wife having a K1 visa. At the very least, the lack of attention to detail is of concern.

Ya, push, read a bit, there's some esoteric use of language that pegs the meters.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Relax...you dont have any red flags that you can question right? Not a criminal. You know your Fiance/fiancee is your Fiance/fiance and you filed for the correct Visa. ie K1 for the spouse.

Your fiance(ee) when the time comes can converse in English and answer to the best of his/her abilities the questions of the Officer(s).

What is the freak out? Panic? Hope he/she wont do that if/when they makes it to POE.

I hope you are kidding..because if OP story is true, it is based on their individual case and there is more info than has been written... Relax GF.

Congrats on your filing and Good Luck

Find better things to talk to your SO about...like a great future no matter what happens!!!

We have no red flags at all, other than they may question our age difference. He can answer any questions they ask.. Think I started to panic a bit because we have been through the "denying entry" at a POE before because they could tell we were in a relationship and the was "high risk for illegally immigrating". Not only are the accusations embarrassing and not done in private, but makes you feel like "tell the truth and do everything right and ya still get screwed" :P

Thanks for your kind words... relaxing a lot more today after reading follow up posts by others on here. :)

On a page in between the first and last pages, the OP clarified that she was his fiancee, not his wife and that he simply wrote it wrong in the thread title.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

Oh my Heavens! I'm so sorry to hear this. I believe you can contact or write your senator's office for help. Did they give your fiancee a reason for the turn around?

Hey, I',m probably not much use but I can say I have dealt with LAX border control a fair few times whilst visiting my man, and some of them are extremely short-tempered and jumped up - I think he who refused your lady was seriously having a bad day. An American immigration lawyer I think would be your best bet... not a lawyer from S.Korea. x best of luck
