Hi there!

I just got engaged on Monday (Soooo excited!!) and my Fiance is a US citizen. We plan on getting married in Australia and then for me to move over and live with him in the US. So we are now trying to get all of the information that we need to make the immigration process as smooth as possible. Firstly, I must say that this site is SUPER helpful! However, one thing that I haven't been able to find out is that when it comes time for my visa interview will I be able to schedule it in the US consulate in Melbourne (where I live) or will I be required to travel up to the US consulate in Sydney??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Only Sydney does immigrant visa interviews (including CR-1, which is what you will get). So you will have to travel to Sydney unfortunately. Congratulations!

Remember that you're entitled to a gratis (free) passport name change if you do the change within a year of marriage. Saves some moulah!
