8 days since my application was received..no biometrics appointment ??

Is this normal ? They do have my finger prints already since I had to get my biometrics done for TPS in 2010.I was granted TPS last December.Is it possible that I wont be given an appointment?

Patience, you need a lot of it during this process. Give it time, and you'll get your bio and other necessary steps. Just relax. Waiting is the game.

8 days is barely enough time for them to open the envelope containing your papers.. this process takes time. You'll drive yourself absolutely crazy if you start counting eveyr minute of every day that passes. Biometrics letter usually comes within 2-4 weeks from when USCIS received your package - but there are always variations between individual cases. Give it time - and just try to keep yourself busy and not freak out too much in the meantime.

It very much depends on location.

If you don't hear anything in this process, don't worry...that just means the process is working. ;)

Eventually you will be contacted and it will be on their time.

July 2005 - met my awesome, hot, amazing love in Lousiana.
July 2006 - Married said love and moved to Canada.
June 2011 - Entered US to visit family, decided to stay.
Feb. 2012 - Sent paperwork to Chicago.

You will need new biometrics. Biometrics are only good for 15 months. How long it takes depends on your local office. Ours took 2.5 months for an appointment.

Don't stress too much. Sometimes the online system doesn't even update when it should so you may get a letter when you aren't expecting it! It never showed up online when they sent us a biometrics or interview letter.

Here *pulls up a chair*... welcome the the crazy house of Basee! I do the same. First I worried that others were getting their bio appts and I wasn't, then I get my interview date and worry that I haven't gotten my EAD, check the status update couple of times a day... constantly have my phone super glued to my hand in case I get notification... I'm a basket case, driving my husband up the wall and myself insane. BUT... one way or another it will be done and dusted in less than a month... hopefully, I'll still have some hair and fingernails left by then!

BUT... one way or another it will be done and dusted in less than a month... hopefully, I'll still have some hair and fingernails left by then!

Reading this made me laugh so much !!! I wonder if USCIS have any idea about the stress we're experiencing :whistle: I will celebrate when this is over.

I second everything that's been said so far, it's a stressful time, no matter what, the waiting drove me crazy too. It took about a month till I got the biometrics letter and the appointment was about two weeks after that. Never got a notification or online update for that (I don't think they update for sending that out...)
