The ppl at the national centers don't have any info other than the case being transferred and service centers don't have a number u can call. :/ good luck on getting all ur paperwork in hope u get approved soon! Keep me posted

Hello everyone! I have an update. Today (09/13/2012), I checked my case status which said the following:

The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Before this took place, I had sent my I-130 to the Chicago Lockbox which was then sent to Vermont Service Center. From there, it was sent to National Benefits Center (NBC). Today it says it was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. Can anyone be kind enough to clearly tell me what that means? I am a US Citizen who is living abroad (INDIA) with my husband. I will be staying with him until we get everything approved and will go back together. I look forward to hearing from anyone who might know or has/had experience with this. Thank you! :)

Hi I'm not really sure for your case since u are living abroad with ur husband. Most of us here who got their cases transferred are living in the US. What I can tell u is cases mostly get transferred because 1.they are doubting ur marriage is real and will either require u to send in more info or come in for an interview or 2. There has been some immigration issues in the past and they ate investigating them now.

But like I said it could be different for u since u ate living abroad. Either way if they did transfer ur case to a local office be prepared for a long wait my case was transferred 4 months ago and I still have no news :/

I went with my attorney yesterday, he told me, that it was really weird that they moved my case. He thinks that maybe they think my wife is in the US and that there is no need to go to Ciudad Juarez. who know, or that maybe we can avoid the CDJ process and do everything in the local office, he said everything is possible with Immigration.

Keep insisting Ale, I called and opened a service request to customer service, give it a try.

Dont give up!! Have faith and trust in God, there is always a reason of what things happen.

I was this close to give up and move back to Mexico when the letter came in to my house...

You will be in my prayers.

I called them wanting to speak to an ISO, but they were still closed, apparently the automated message I got was to wait 180 days from the day the case was transferred. It looks like I lost almost a month since I applied on the 20th of August. So I take it your I-130 is put at the end of the list after it was transferred, that's horrible.

I just called USCIS again and spoke with tier 2, they told me that my case will be processed at the National Benefits Center. They said it was to alleviate the stress off of other USCIS centers. Hopefully this is good news.

Been a while since I posted and I see new people so I'll recap my situation.

Husband is in removal proceedings.

A year ago, September 20, 2011, I petitioned for him. We got sent to California. After 6 months they sent us back to our local USCIS office on March 20, 2012 (Chicago). I received a letter in the mail stating that if we haven't heard from them in 6 months then we can contact them. Exactly 6 months to the date, yesterday, September 20, 2012, I received a letter in the mail for an interview. October 3. This is an interview to get his I-130 approved. Exactly a year from petition to scheduling of the interview. All just for the dang I-130!!!!!

I'm super excited that at least SOMETHING is happening with the case, but come on! A YEAR to schedule an appointment?!?!?!?!?! I pray the rest of our journey goes much faster!

Good luck to you all!
