Case Transferred...Help!!!

Hey everyone just wanted to give u an update I got another email today stating that my I-130 was transferred and is NOW being processed at a local USCIS office so I guess it took about 2 days for them to mail and receive it now let's see how long before I hear any more news. I've been praying everyday lets hope it's soon

When I called about my transfer the woman said "they transfer cases to speed up processing"

i dunno, if you not talk with a Tier 2 Human, an ISO, then any answer is suspect.

We don't call it the misinformation line for nothing. Transferring cases to local offices is done to solve problems. It adds an extra step. Talk to tier 2 or just don't trust the answer. In a local office transfer though, even a tier 2 person may not have any information specific to your case. If they do, they may not give it to you. They save the drama for the local officer.

Sorry, missed the context. I didn't say the misinformation line folks could solve problems. "Standard interviews" at local offices solve problems for USCIS in determining whether the petitioner or beneficiary are eligible for the petition to be approved. They usually occur because there is some question about past dealings with immigration matters or USCIS concerns about fraud associated with the current case or a past case. They are generally wanting to clear up some discrepancy by having a conversation, in person, with the petitioner. We don't see a lot of this but I've definitely seen them go both ways. The last one I can remember details about revolved around a petitioner failing to mention a previous annulled marriage and the beneficiary's previous illegal presence in the USA. The petition was approved at the interview but since the beneficiary got caught two more times in the same day trying to enter the USA, the jury is still out on the actual visa and will be for some time.

So, standard interviews in local USCIS offices only solve problems for the petitioner, when the outcome is positive.

Ahhh, I see. I wonder if my case was transferred because they want an interview, or if they're reviewing more due to my expedite request. The only thing the transfer letter said was "additional processing." And I have been RIPPING my hair out googling and searching what "additional processing" means. I've spoken to 3 different Tier 2's which can't tell me anything other than "sometimes they're sent for faster processing." I'm beside myself about this. I know we're all in this situation, and no one is really any more important than anyone else, but sometimes it's hard to remember that.

I haven't called the office yet. I'm debating whether or not to do it seeing as how some ppl say it can help and others say it can prolong the process even more. In thinking of waiting two weeks and then giving them a call...please keep me posted on ur cases so we can compare notes

Oh that's the update I got yesterday let's hope they are being worked on and no just sitting in a pile
