When I filed for my husband back in September, VSC was much faster than CSC. it was taking most people at CSC an average of 6 months whereas VSC was approving people in as little as 3 months. I have very recently petitioned for our kids. As we all know, things can change at the drop of a hat with immigration, and I'm wondering who is moving along faster these days? I'm praying this time we caught CSC at a good time!

You can check the processing time at USCIS website.

A side from that, the last processing tables shows VSC to take almost over 6 months to process I-130, while CSC still at 5.

Try to track some threads of I-130 filers and look at their timelines, that will give you an up to date details about that.

Good luck

Both services centers traditionally take their turns in being faster or slower, CSC has really picked up in recent months though!

No you don't. They send wherever they need to. I thought it was whichever one was closest to you but I am from Chicago and they sent us to California even though Vermont is closer.

Which one is faster depends entirely on when you file. Right now, CSC seems to be picking up the pace.

Aren't application routed through Chicago office?Do we we have choice to submit case at specific service center?

No, no choice. Depending on where in the country you live, it's routed through Chicago or Phoenix to either Vermont or California. It seems like pretty much all petitions from west of the Mississippi go to California, while about half of east coast petitions go to Vermont and the other half to California.
