Question if you all know or not, do Canadian citizens need vaccination records before they visit the civil surgeon? Her mother is coming to visit in a week so she is bringing those with her just in case.

Yes, we had to order my husband's from Newfoundland. It was very easy, they actually emailed it. If you don't have it the civil surgeon will make you get them over again (or at least some of them) for a charge.

Wrong...

You don't need them - but if you have them it means you won't have to get as many, if any, needles stuck in ya. :). It also may mean a reduced price, depending on the civil surgeon and their policies.

I couldn't find mine, so I had to get all the shots that I would have had from when I was a kid. Then it turned out my mother had them back in Canada. :bonk:

July 2005 - met my awesome, hot, amazing love in Lousiana.
July 2006 - Married said love and moved to Canada.
June 2011 - Entered US to visit family, decided to stay.
Feb. 2012 - Sent paperwork to Chicago.

May 2012 - Received green card.

Day 0 - Package sent to Chicago Lockbox - 02/27/2012
Day 2 - UPS Tracking Confirmation - 02/29/2012
Day 4 - NOA Emails Received - 03/02/2012
Day 7 - All Checks Cashed - 03/05/2012

Ok, I guess you can just get them all over again. But I'm cheap and he's not into needles, so he just emailed a request to the appropriate office and they emailed the vaccination records. I don't think it even cost anything. He still had to get a tetanus shot though.

  • 2 weeks later...

darcness, I hope you come back to this thread. Here is a link for you. Please please please seek competent qualified legal counsel from an expert in family immigration before filing your wife's case.

http://www.ncids.org/other%20manuals/Immigration%20Manual/Chapter%206.pdf

Possession of 30 Grams or Less of Marijuana

A conviction of possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana, although a drug offense, is exempt from many immigration consequences if the defendant has no prior drug convictions. An LPR will avoid deportability (but not inadmissibility after traveling abroad). A non-LPR will be inadmissible, but he or she will not necessarily be barred from adjusting to LPR status in the future because this ground of inadmissibility can be waived by the immigration court. If your client is pleading guilty to a Class 1 misdemeanor possession of marijuana (which covers quantities of more and less than 30 grams), you should document in the record of conviction that the quantity involved is 30 grams or less, if applicable. It is important to do so in case your client is deemed inadmissible and needs to apply for a waiver of the conviction. See supra § 3.5C (describing noncitizen’s burden of establishing right to relief from removal).

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.
