Hi everyone. Hope everyone is good. I have a few questions.

1. How did you guys send in your photos showing a bonafide relationship. Did you print them at stick them on paper or did you print actual photos and did you write the date, location and names of the people in the photo or just gave a breif description?

2. My husband is a naturalized US citizen, so does he send in the copies of his US passport AND a copy of his naturalization certificate OR does he need to send in ONLY ONE? Also since he was not born in the US is the copy of his birth certificate necessary or is it only needed to establish citizenship for those born in the US?

3. Is a cover letter absolutely necessary and if so where can I find a sample of one?

4. My husband and I will be married for 2 years next February and we were hoping that I enter the US after our two year anniversary so as to get a 10 year green card and skip the whole removal of conditions? How does that work would I be automatically given a 10 year green card after entering after the 2 year anniversary or if I get an interview after our 2 year anniversary will I be given an IR1 visa? How does that work?

Thanks.

1. How did you guys send in your photos showing a bonafide relationship. Did you print them at stick them on paper or did you print actual photos and did you write the date, location and names of the people in the photo or just gave a breif description?

I printed pictures on paper and placed a number next to the picture. Next to the number, I provided a description. The pictures themselves were date and time stamped.

He only needs to send one, not both. A copy of his birth certificate is not necessary; as you point out, it is only used to establish citizenship.

3. Is a cover letter absolutely necessary and if so where can I find a sample of one?

A cover letter is not a requirement, however, it is a good idea as the purpose of a cover letter is to summarize what the file contains.

If you enter the US after your two year anniversary, you will receive a 10 year green card (if the visa you use to enter is a CR-1, you will need to point out to CBP that you have been married for more than two years and eligible for the 10 year green card). If you interview after your two year anniversary, you should be given an IR-1 visa; if for some reason you were not issued an IR visa, see what I just wrote about pointing out when you were married to CBP.

1) we sent in actual pictures with full captions (date, location, people) on the back - although I can't see why photos printed on paper would be any issue

3) VJ has a great cover letter thread.....lots of examples there. It's rarely necessary, except in some DCF cases, but we did it (we're DCF'ers that aren't required to send a cover letter) because it explained everything, in the right order, etc. Plus, we made a 2nd copy for ourselves so we could remember what all we sent in!

Even if it's unnecessary I thought I'd rather spend 10 minutes typing upa letter than get a stupid RFE because something was unclear!
