Hello Guys,

Just to give you an update, I don't know if you guys remember last month i called uscis and they told me that if i don't receive anything by 23 feb to call them.... well i did today, and this is what happened>

A representative picked it up, i was explaining to them my situation, and once again i was told how im still under processing time and all that, but i told him that my priority date is so close and i may don't have enough time to be ready for the interview because the nvc process will be next and i haven't even received yet my noa2....and you know what this guy told me with a straight voice????? Sir you don't have a priority date because you haven't been approved yet (so that's when i knew that this guy dint even know where is he seating down, it was obvious that this guys does not have an idea of this process at all), so.... i quickly said, please brother just let me speak with the supervisor, and he asked me why do you want to speak with the supervisor for? and i told him, to explain what i just explained to you, and he said, alright but hes going to say the same thing that i just said........ well anyways, supervisor is on the line now, i explained to her the situation again and also told her that i wanted to received my service request for this matter... and she said, well i cant do that because you still under normal processing time, and the she said but there is something i could do for you, and she said, let me check how long is it going to take for Vermont to give you a decision about your case, (she made me wait for a couple of seconds)and then she said, wow i have a good news sir, i see here in the system that for your date, you should receive a decision about your case in 14 regular days from now (including weekends, not workdays)and if not please call back and ask for a supervisor again so we can open a service request.........

Well this was the conversation.....

Now my question is, you guys think this is true or just another way to keep us dreaming.... i personally think that they finally going to update the Vermont processing time in 14 days and she already has that information on their system but cant give me exact info until they release that information on the web...... what you guys think????

I think they just wanted to keep you quiet for another 14 days. When Vermont next updates their processing times, it will be based on data from 31 January. Since you and Anil didn't get approved in January, I don't think the processing time for our category is going to move. Quite frankly, the people answering the phones at the USCIS Customer Service Center don't have a clue about what's happening at the VSC, and they cannot tell anyone when they are going to be approved.

Yet, I keep my fingers crossed for you and can't wait to hear the news that you got approved. Good luck!

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

I'm eligible to apply for naturalization next month, so I figure that might be a quicker route.

You may be right. My husband just applied for citizenship, and I am trying to get used to the idea that our F2A case may only leave the VSC once he has naturalised. I am only worried that even after we upgrade the case, it may still take USCIS forever to approve the petition - there have been a couple of people here who upgraded to IR and still had to wait for three months for NOA2.

Have you guys seen this? Someone posted the link in one of the other forums. Maybe, just maybe, this will bring some hope to us too.

"On February 13, 2013, USCIS transferred some casework from the Vermont Service Center to the Nebraska Service Center to balance overall workload with processing capacity at the centers. The affected casework includes the following forms:

  • - I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
    - I-765, Application for Employment Authorization (when filed concurrently with the I-821D)
    - I-765 Worksheet (when filed concurrently with the I-821D) (pdf)

That's true, in fact I think IR cases are still being sent to the National Benefits Center and then to a Field Office. I hope all these work transfers will allow VSC to give some consideration to F2A cases too.

By the way, has your case been touched at all recently?
