VSC Updated their processing times page, and it's not pretty

I think the best thing that we can do is just watch the timelines here. Even if there was an influx of K1 petitions, it shouldn't affect those who already filed before such an influx. And honestly you would think that they would assign more adjudicators to K1 if something like this happened. It has to be a screw up of some sort.

How ya doin Abq? Socorro here. Domt pay too much attention to those processing dates. They're just estimates. I have seen some get approved in 2 months, 3 months. Its justthe luck of the draw. Good luck to you.

And others have been approved in 16 days, 33 days and 3 months. USCIS is all over the place at times, watching those stats is about as exciting and revealing as watching paint dry.

This doesn't fill me with confidence, but today the USCIS page updated VSC processing times.

I-129F's show as 8.9 months, and the detailed page now shows.... *gulp* 14 June 2011 as the current processing date....

LOTS of other petitions now show as MUCH longer wait times.... what the heck happened!

I called them yesterday and spoke with a real person and he said they were on Nov.13th 2011 and that if i didn't hear something within 30 days to call them back. Hope this helps?

Don't worry. I'm pretty sure this is a glitch. They're not going to take 8 - 9 months processing I-129s.. I have enough faith in the system that congress wouldn't allow it.

congress doesn't know about it or just don't have the time to deal with it. they are worried about which budgets are being cut at the moment. and re-elections too..

There were 3 December I-129F approvals yesterday based on timelines. A couple additional callers also reported that USCIS VSC said work was on processing November 14th. All is well. They don't suddenly go back such a significant number of months.

Because VisaJourney represents a very small number of petitions that are processing at any one time and as such may be different. The USCIS website might be correct in the case, it may be that those petitions are the ones being worked on, and so I would estimate that 30 days before and after the date they show, would be about the right range of dates being processed.

You also need to take into account that some petitions do take longer, background checks, admin errors, un co-operative agencies and higher fraud countries.

The advice seems to be that if you are outside the normal processing time, then you should call the USCIS, escalate your petition and make a service request with a tier two agent.

i am looking at my petition - i130 usc petitioning spouse. these people are getting lazier by the moment as i know couple of people got their spouse to the u.s. in a 6 month timeframe many years ago. and now that they have computers in this age, they still manage to delay the processing time more. there is a serious performance management issue with uscis.

I'm not sure it's a case of being lazy. There are hundreds of thousands of petitions to approve and sometimes focus has to shift to the ones that are more important or they are more behind on to be fair to everyone. Certain political situations change and visas are granted for those people a little more quickly if they are in danger etc. Personally I'd rather accept a delay if it meant someone could get out of a country where their life is in danger.
