What the heck does this touch/message mean???

My file was touched today, and the status changed to:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On October 4, 2006, we transferred your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to an office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER for processing. Our office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office.

I have never heard of this before - I really hope that they don't think it's a K1 application... I thought all K-3's were processed at Missouri?

I am not feeling good about this!!

12/27/06 - emailed choice of agent; 12/29/06 - received email from NVC confirming choice of agent!

01/01/07 - NVC generated IV Fee Bill (postmarked 1/17 though!)

01/03/07 - returned AoS Fee Bill via Priority Mail (James' shortcut)

01/15/07 - NVC generated AOS package

01/22/07 - received IV Fee Bill - overnighted back to NVC same day

01/27/07 - recieved I864 package; 01/29/07 - overnighted I864 to NVC

01/29/07 - DS230 generated (phone system not updated, email response 2/5/07)

02/05/07 - mailed DS-230 to NVC via express mail

02/20/07 - CASE COMPLETE!!

04/18/07 - INTERVIEW!!!! - APPROVED!!!!

09/28/06 - NOA1

1/25/07 - approved ...NOA2 via snail mail - 1/29/07

03/16/07 - chose not to return packet 3 to Montreal

It just means your petition is going to be processed through the California Service Center. It is totally normal so don't worry- it's good news that your petition is on the move.

Where did you send your petition to?

I think that I-129F's are only being processed in California and Vermont now so if you sent it somewhere else it's normal to have it sent to California. This has happened to many many people and it is very normal.

Okay, sorry to keep posting to my own thread, but I feel slightly better now, I just received a letter in the mail regarding the transfer. It states that this was done in order to speed up processing - and it was issued by the Missouri office, so I feel like it was in the right place and they aren't transferring it b/c they think it was in the wrong place. Okay, I'll just try to keep breathing :)

Many of our cases have been transferred to California. It is totally normal.

13 Feb. 2006 - sent I-130; 14 Feb. 2006 - I-130 received at Nebraska

28 Feb. 2006 - NOA-1

2 Mar. 2006 - RFE for payment problem; 3 Mar. - corrected & mailed; 6 Mar. - USCIS rec'd payment

12 June 2006 - APPROVED! (NOA-2)

20 June 2006 - case number assigned

3 July 2006 - DS-3032 and AOS Fee bill generated; 6 July - emailed DS-3032 Choice of Agent

13 July 2006 - Received DS-3032 (UK)

14 July 2006 - DS-3032 mailed to NVC

17 July 2006 - DS-3032 and AOS Fee received in mail

19 July 2006 - mailed Fee bill to NVC; recieved at NVC St. Louis facility 20 July

24 July 2006 - Received NVC choice of agent confirmation email

4th-8th Aug 2006 - Recieve IV bill. (non specific date recieved/away vacation)

10th Aug 2006 - NVC recieve IV Bill.

11th Aug 2006 - Recieved I-864 package / mailed back 15th Aug

I-129F:

6 Mar. 2006 - sent I-129F; 8 Mar. 2006 - I-129F received at USCIS

16 Mar. 2006 - NOA1

3 July 2006 - received RFE (IMBRA); 5 July 2006 - mailed RFE response

10 July 2006 - received USCIS email confirming receipt of RFE response

13 July 2006 - received RFE (IMBRA) AGAIN

17 July 2006 - mailed 2nd RFE response; received by USCIS 19 July

27 July 2006 - APPROVED!

7 Aug 2006 - case number assigned at NVC

11 Aug 2006 - Recieved NVC letter confirming case sent to london

23 Aug 2006 - Received Packet 3 / 25 Aug 2006 - Mailed back

04 Sep 2006 - Medical completed.

08 Sep 2006 - Interview date assigned for 2nd October

That's odd. Yours is the first K-3 I-129f I've ever heard of being transferred!

I thought you were a K-1 for some reason. I guess you could call and try to find out why but you probably won't get anywhere with that. Good luck to you!

This information is totally strange to me because, it is the K-1, I-130 that got transferred sometime ago, on another hand the missouri office has been so slow for the past two month. Maybe they have more requests than they could actually process. To be on the safe side i will give them a call. My own petition has been with them since june 19 with final decision yet to be made, others have been there since march.

12/30/2008: Overnighted I-751 package to VSC

01/06/2009: Check cashed

01/06/2009: NOA (arrived 01/09/09)

01/23/2009: Biometrics appt letter received

01/31/2009: Biometrics scheduled

05/20/2009: APPROVED

06/23/2009: 10 Year Green Card arrived

well, they appear to be on the ball today - I just received my first ever email from the USCIS with the updated status that showed up today :) At least something is working.

Make that FIVE emails - ridiculous! I've heard of this happening before. Oh well, at least it keeps me occupied.
