I received Green Card today . It's on my birthday...best my birthday and Christmas gift

Congratulations! I am also a May filers and got an RFE yesterday wanted us to show additional evidence. We dont have any joint properties/land, no children. So what we can provide them are our recent credit cards showing the same address and drivers license of my husband ang my learners permit, transaction of joint bank account, history of bill payment of my husbands life insurnce showing i am the benificiary and showing his on active status on that. If they dont get satisfied with that they can call us to appear and prove our bona fide marriage. We already gave them all the copies we know we have when we submitted it.It's maddening...

when i got here i complained about everything, part of it is just adjusting to life in USA, for some it takes longer than others to get used to the difference especially if there is a language barrier. perhaps a need to be understanding is also in order, most ppl come here and do not experience anything bad in the USA, some of us had had a horrible time of it, unemployment, recession, but eventually we acclimated to the new culture and territory. hope you will be able to see that their fears are just as valid as your outlook. have a blessed new year.

I have been checking on this forum for at least 3 months but I have not had a chance to register until today. Well, It was a few days ago when I read these comments from two new green card holder of America where they were planning their way back to the countries because it is SAFER for them and their families.

I believe this forum is intended for people that are going through a legal process where they left their native homeland because they are working towards achieving the American dream. America is a free country so whoever is not happy can leave and look for a better life elsewhere.

I have a question for these complaining people that feel SAFER in their countries as they stated on the forum. They just feel the need to complain and complain and try to rain on our parade.

What are you doing here and why are you wasting homeland security time and tax payer money trying to be a citizen? Did you just realize that the USA was not Candy land? Don't you research before you completely move your life?

I just going to forget about these comments and enter to the forum. Maybe, BenAna or anyone in the forum can answer my question.

BenAna and forum, my application was received by USCIS on 05/16, biometrics was done on 06/27 and I have not heard from them as of now. Maybe people like new complaining US green card holder are causing delays for us! My last touch was on 09/28 and I am anxious to get my approval

I will go to my country for Christmas and I am would like to know the experience of you guys coming back to the US on expired green card and extended letter. I have not been out the country since I submitted my I751 back on May 2012.

Thats weird, as I called on Dec 8 and they told me that they were processing applications from May 10 !

Sorry, I didn't post earlier but with the holiday I have been busy. We received the GC on 12/27. Thanks to everyone for your help and good luck to those still waiting.

Although I'm not on the above list, I did file in May to have my bride and her now 22 year old daughter (K2) removal of conditions. Today, the last day of the year a letter arrived from the Dept. of Homeland Security congratulating them on their approval as Lawful Permanent Residents. A great way to finish the year..

Just got my approval email! "On January 2, 2013, we ordered production of your new card." WOO. We're out of the country for the next few weeks, so hopefully the 10-year card will be waiting when we get back.

Well...I called USCIS they couldnt find his case so they transferred me to a tier 2 customer service rep. He said...The case is still pending could take 6 to 12 months, an RFE has not been issued but...it dont mean we wont get one, An interview has been requested but has not been scheduled yet. So, thats where we are. Just thought I would share it. Good Luck To Everyone!!! and Congrats to everyone else!!!
