Hi, Could someone let me know how can i expedite my 10 years Green Card process as its almost 6 months now (I submitted my application on May 3rd 2012 and my biometric was done on 06/11/2012).

We are in the process to purchase a house and we applied for a bank loan and they are not going to accept the expired conditional Green card (green card expired on 07/31/2012) with one year extension letter, THEY NEED THE VALID GREEN CARD to process our loan application Could someone please help and let me know what to do in this case? Our home clsoing date is Nov 09th and before that our home mortgage must be approved.

what is the USCIS number through which atleast i can call and talk to someone? I know its 0800 number but what option to talk to someone?

You won't be able to speed it up, I mean even when you call the congressman, they won't even listen to him anyways. The bank should accept your NOA (I797) the 1 year extension. That paper makes you legal in the US even when your green card is expired. Or go to the USCIS office and get you passport stamped and ask them if the bank should have any problems with it. Thanks for your reply. So I called and discuss about my issue on getting a loan from bank. The guy who picked up my phone was pretty good and gave me a reference number. He told me he is going to expedite and hopefully i should be able to hear anything in 5 days, lets see. Regards, S Umer

Wow, i's been a long time, I haven't heard anything and check the USCIS website and it says that is being reviewed. My wife and I went to Poland in September and we traveled to several countries, Crpatia. Montenegro, Serbia, Hungry, Albania and a couple of other countries and didn't get hassled once except when I came back through at Philadelphia. Shes still in Poland and coming back in two days with an expired GC I'm wondering if she will have problems. She has her extension letter but that doesn't mean she won't have trouble. I'm wondering when we will get her new GC?

Yes, it'll be what it'll be. I had an update/touch on my file on Sept 26th...prior to that it was only at the submisison of the biometrics in June...so something happened. Best to chill and wait....

I wrote a really long reply and it went somewhere I don't know. But anyway, don't worry. I went to Peru and went back a few days ago and IO in Miami knew exactly what the extension letter was. So, no issues at all.

Well I would hope there are no problems. The extension is exactly that and is absolutely valid. Like you guys, I had a touch on Sept 26th. In fact I called USCIS to follow up given the petition date of May 16th and essentially was told that I would have to wait the full six months ie Nov 17th before that office would do any follow up on my behalf because it's still within the normal processing timeframes. I'm not stressed about it but just want to get it done. I start a new job Nov 13th and it would be nice to give them the 10 year card rather than the expired GC and extension letter. Tis what it tis.

You haven't posted a follow up....wondering if you were able to have this expedited. I'm not entirely sure how you can....not sure USCIS will move any faster because you entered into a private financial agreement by purchasing a home. But if you can.....kindly let us know lol !! WOW! cant believe May filers haven't gotten any approvals yet. My sister sent hers on May 22 and still no response. Bio was completed and still waiting for her approval notice. HOpe it comes soon.

I've been checking my case status every 3 hours over the last 4 days, this process is driving me crazy

April filers started getting approvals when March filers were about 60% and something.

April filers are 61% right now, we should start getting some approvals here next week.

I also sent mine on May 22 and they got on the 23rd, so I think I still have to wait until beginning of December because 6 months of my process is exactly on Thanksgiving
