After some soul-searching, she remembered that she might have

put the NOA1 letter in the desk right under the keyboard I am typing

on now - I opened the drawer and there it was!

No infopass! Yay!

I'll still call them up tomorrow and make sure there aren't any "gotchas"

left in their bag of tricks - Old & new passport, Green Card & I-797 Notice

of Action Letter: "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period

of one year..." etc.

Nowhere on the letter does it have words

to the effect that this document itself is

in fact a travel document, which, actually, it is.

Hubby's biometric appointment is going to be on 7/31/2012. I've been so busy that I forgot to update my timeline here. Can someone please do that for me? Thanks a lot!

So except for his IDs and the letter, is there anything else he needs to bring to his appointment? Can I go with him for the appointment since i'd be driving him there anyway...or would they only allow my husband in since he's the only one doing fingerprints and photos? I'm worried about his English. We are going to the USCIS in Seattle.

I don't know about Seattle but here in Los Angeles we went to the Gardena office and my husband went with me.

It was quick and easy, all they asked for was my Biometrics app letter and some ID. It took less than 15 min.

I knew something was amiss.

There are two types of NOA you are likely thinking of. The first NOA1 gives the extension for a year and if you don't receive that, as I had not intially, then you get a stamp in your passport ......the biometrics letters also shows NOA on it because it is a Notice of Action. But that letter shows ASC on it which is the biometrics notice and they do take that from you.

It sounds like you didn't receive the initial NOA1 showing extension. You can try to obtain a duplicate or you can get a stamp in your passport as long as your passport is valid. And they ony stamp the passport in accordance to the validity of the passport.

I called the USCIS again on 7/12 telling them that it has been 30 days since we received the NOA1 but no biometric appointment letter. The agent put in a service request for us. They took down all our info--email, address, phone # and told us to call them again if there's no response in 15 days. But it has already been a week and still not a word from them.

Does anyone know how they will contact you about the service request and how fast is the response?

We are moving to a new apt by the end of July and have to do an address change...I hope there will not be any delay in receiving the biometric letter. We have prepared the worst to shorten our trip in August if we did not receive response in August.

I just called the USCIS to inquire about the biometric appointment and finally got through to the immigration officer after 30mins of wait time. Unfortunately, she told me that my husband needs to be presented beside me since we both signed the I-751 form, and she needs to get permission from him in order to tell me whether the biometric letter has been sent out. This is too bad. Guess I will have to call again tomorrow if we don't receive NOA2 today...

I called USCIS on July 6 with the same situation as you, asking for the biometric appointment letter. They took the same information as you and promised I would hear from them within 15 days. They gave me a reference number (a very long string of random letters and numbers) and told me if I didn't hear from them in 15 days, I should call again. I got the duplicated biometric appointment letter the following week, either on July 11th or 12th. The mail was postmarked on July 10th from CA 92677.

I think if you still don't hear from them by the end of the 15 days period, you should call them again and ask to set up a infopass appointment, so your trip won't be ruined because of this delayed mail. Do you still have the reference number that they gave you when you called them on July 12? I hope you will get a letter in mail soon!

Finally received the biometric appointment letter today--Notice Date 7/17 and the biometric time is 7/31.

We just signed up for this website. We sent I-751 package on July 16, 2012 and received by VSC on July 17. We are waiting for NOA1 and biometric appointment. Does anybody know that after the biometrics performed, do we have to do anything (i.e. paper works, appointment etc.) before receiving the 10-year green card? How long it takes to receive the GC? Thanks.

Sorry for the lack of updates! Been very busy with work.

Our biometrics appointment was scheduled for the 17th at Elizabeth. We went to the Manhattan office (closer) on Friday, hoping to do our biometrics early. All the staff gave us the okay because they were light. They were super friendly. The security guard even gave an understanding nod, and smiled and told my wife she looks perfect when examining her ID. It was just niceness all around.

I had to sit while my wife took the biometrics, but the Manhattan office's waiting seats are in the same room, so you can see what is happening. The Chinese woman who was doing my wife's biometrics looked at her form, smiled, examined the biometrics letter, and said it's good she came early (this much I could hear). Then she put the form down and started doing other stuff while engaging in small talk. Then my wife said "Korean" in response to a question I didn't hear, and the Chinese woman's face changed completely. Then she picked up the biometrics letter again, looked at it, and asked very loudly, "Why did you come here?!" Then she called a blonde woman, and had this smirk while tearing up some form and looking at my wife dead in the eyes, while the blonde woman was saying something while shaking her head.

I was concerned since I couldn't hear the full conversation. All the other workers who gave us the okay before just said, "Sorry, you can't go to a different location, you have to go to NJ." Even the security guard who said, "Sorry, they are probably busy today." But it was empty.

I know it's a hit or miss, but it was a really weird experience.

So we had to find a way to Elizabeth on Tuesday the 17th, which was a pain, because I had work and had an important meeting the same time our appointment was. I decided to get there at 8am. Luckily, they let us process early because they were light, but the lady at the front said we can only come in one hour earlier and that it is getting stricter, so don't try to pull this again.

Biometrics here went smoothly, and now we're just waiting.

I'm new to the May 2012 Filers group. I mailed my I-751 package on 22 May. The cheque was cashed but I haven't received a NOA or anything from USCIS. I was looking at the list for May 2012 filers and I should definitely have received a NOA by now so I'm getting really worried I guess I'm going to have to wait until Monday now to call USCIS and find out what is happening.

Hi everyone! I'm back again.. can somebody please help me update my dates on the list? I received my NOA1 June 10 it was dated May 9, 2012.. me and hubby are stationed overseas so I sent fingerprint cards, so i don't have biometrics appointment. Today, I checked my status online and it said... " July 27, 2012 we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.. etc" But the above above circles that say "acceptance, initial review, Decision, post decision activity" doesn't not indicate anything. But anyway, should I consider my application approved? Please let me know! Thanks
