Our application is sent! I got all the bells and whistles - tracking, delivery confirmation, etc. Let's see how long it takes my husband to say "oh... were we supposed to... send something for immigration?" :lol:

I updated the Google Doc with my timeline and all the new information.

I did. It just seems easier than copying and pasting a spreadsheet in every other post.

Hello everyone, I am new here and I too are a May filer. I have a question or 2. When we first applied for GC in 2010 we used a lawyer because we thought it was a necessity. It went very smoothly with no issues at all. My GC expires 08/04/2012 and we will be sending our ROC package this month. I am wondering, is it necessary to use a lawyer or is the paperwork simple to fill out by ourselves? Are any of you guys doing it yourselves or using a lawyer? Also, is the I-751 form downloadable from the USCIS website or do I need to request for them to mail it? Your input and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks ;-)

I would also suggest that you send bank statements through out your marriage , like every 3 months. This shows consistency to face responsibilities together. You can do the same for the bills (send only every 3 months of your water bill, that will save you some money in copies). the purpose here is to show continuity (no one would open and close their account every 3 months)

Hello there everyone,

So glad to have found this thread. Pressure is building up as I am gathering evidence for I-751. My conditional card expires on 8/25/2012 and I am mailing my package on 5/30/2012. This is my list for you to look at and let me know what you think:

- I751

- Personal Check ($590)

- Copies front and back of GC

- Copy of the reminder notice for me to file.( Did anyone get this?)

- 3 Affidavits from neighbors and friends.

- Joints tax returns for 2011,2010,2009.

- Joint warranty deed of a small property.

- Joint house lease agreement.

- Joint car/RV titles.(Recent and current).

- Joint car loan contract.

- Most recent joint checking and savings accounts statement.

- Letter from hubby's employer ( with attached proof of medical and life insurance coverage, both previous and current, stating me as beneficiary)

- Copies of both our Driver's licenses.

- Copies of our car insurance cards for all vehicles.

- Last 2 water bills in both our names.

- Last car note and internet bill in just my name.

Do I have to include a cover letter???

I have not used acco fastener, but it's pretty organized.Would that be a problem?

I also read somewhere here that the best way to send is USPS Priority mail with delivery receipt. Should I go with that?

Please let me know your comments as I am very anxious and I don't wanna do anything wrong.I wish they would just visit and judge by themselves

I think most of us here did not use a lawyer. The ROC package is much simpler than AOS too.

Only one form to fill out and yes, the i-751 can be downloaded from USCIS.gov.

Unless you have a very complex case, you should be able to do it on your own.

Many VJ members have posted their list of evidence/documents that they sent with their ROC package

Look around in this thread and other month's filers.

Then look around your home and see what evidence you have and put together a list of your own.

You should be fine

My I-751 package arrive at USCIS on Monday and they still have not cashed the cheque after 5 days. Is that normal???

California received the package on May 16th....I forgot my log in for the USCIS website so I wasn't able to log on there, nor could I remember the receipt number. I was tracking progress during filing and before the g/c.....I guess I'll just wait for the physical NOA1 to appear. Oddly, I submitted an AR 11 immediately after we moved....and the notice reminding of the ROC came to the old address....#######?? So I sent a letter about that when I submitted the I 751. Not sure why they didn't have the proper address. I can't recall if the g/c came to this or last address. We had mail forwarded. It's been two years so I can't recall.

And I added to the google list started....~!~
