Biometric Appointment

I made a terrible mistake... My husband has his biometric appointment tomorrow 4/23 @ 9am. When we received his letter, I didn't read it very carefully. I saw Photo Identification and I though all he needs is his ID and the letter. But now I just read the letter and it states he has to have his GC with him. His GC is in the safe deposit @ the bank which opens at 9am... I'm thinking he should still go and show up for his appointment. I'm going to go to the bank around 8:30 and if anyone is in there I am going to beg them to let me in to get his GC and take it to his appointment. I just hope I can get there in time. I can't believe this has happened and I've made this foolish mistake. Anyone think they won't let him in at all without his GC 'till I get there?

Hello thats bummer, he need have his Green Card with him to get his Fingerprint done, all the Naturlization must bring their Green Card to the Biometric Appointment, hopefully you will get it before his appointment other wise, he will try to show up late and explain to them the situation!! Good luck.

I went without my green card they check to see if they had a copy of it in the system they did n I was ok

Yasi calm down. go to the bank in the morning and get the green card and just be late for the appointment. they will still take him. some people go weeks early, you just be 1 hour late. believe me they will still take him. just explain your situation if somebody ask.

He should be ok going late. But they will not take biometrics until they verify the green card.

This should work out since I know of people who went one day late for their biometrics and it was still OK. Please let us know how it goes.

Also, just curious, why do you keep your GC in a safe deposit? Officially, you should carry it with you.

I know most people do not and I did not when I was a PR, but at least I kept the original at home (in case I lost my wallet) and I had a photocopy of it in my wallet. Keeping it at the bank is safe, but you should have access to it all the time which is not possible once you put it there. Just my two cents.

All went well, thank goodness. I went to the bank at 8:30am while my husband went to his appointment. The bank manger came about 8:40 to get inside, I got out of my car and talked to him and he said no problem, let him open the safe and he would come and get me. He came back in 5 min. I went in got his GC and texted my husband that I'm on my way. I got to drive for 5 min. and he called me and said I didn't need to go. They let him have his biometric done without his GC. They said is Ok, his ID was sufficient. He told them I was going to bring his GC but they said tell her she doesn't need to come. We were both so happy.

To "nwctzn" good question... he doesn't feel comfortable keeping it at home. He has a copy with him. He thought it's better to keep all our documents in the safe deposit box. I guess now we know better
