HI everyone

I am new to this forum and new to the whole immigration process.

I am a U.S Citizen and my wife is from Germany. She is currently living in Berlin while I am in Seattle awaiting her green card approval. We filed the I-130 petition in November of 2011 and I received a letter from the USCIS stating that they had received my petition. Every time I check the status online it just says in review. It has been over five months now and I am starting to worry just a little as it states the National average and California Service center average is 5 months.

She I be worried? Does it normally take this long to get an approval? Did I miss something?

I have tried to talk with someone on the phone and all they tell me is it could take 3 more months????

If I messed something up would they tell me?

I am sorry if I sound paranoid or stupid but this whole thing is confusing to my wife and i.

Any helpful info would be great

Also, I sent a check as form of payment and the letter I received stated that I had a balance of 0.00 for my processing fee but I don't remember it ever clearing the bank? Do they wait to cash it or what? Could this be what is taking so long?

Hi there..november filer!! we are november filers too...november 8th, I am still waiting patiently for my husbands NOA2 from CSC...everything you were saying, we felt too...did we miss something? was our money order cashed? (it was cashed on the 14th), why?why?why? I too am a USC and my husband is from Ethiopia..lets keep in touch as we are november filers and I pray that both of our petitions will be approved soon...May 8th will be 6mos for us...patience is key, but we are human..and the emotions of wanting to be with our loved ones can cause us to worry and stress...but hang in there my friend...hopefully soon...RBM

We got our I-130 approval in 6 months.

USCIS

10/01/11 - Filed (2) I-130's

10/04/11 - NOA-1

04/05/12 - NOA-2

Your I-130 was approved in 184 days from your NOA1 date.

NVC

04/23/12 - NVC received both cases (18 days/12 business days from NOA-2)

05/07/12 - Case numbers and IIN's (14 days/10 business days since NVC received)

05/07/12 - Sent out DS-3032 by email; auto-response received

05/08/12 - AOS fee invoiced, paid - "IN PROCESS"

05/09/12 - AOS fee shows as "PAID"

05/10/12 - Spouse's DS-3032 accepted; minor child's rejected = had petitioner call NVC = received verbal acceptance from operator

05/11/12 - Spouse's IV fee invoiced

05/14/12 - Daughter's IV fee invoiced, paid both IV fees - "IN PROCESS"

05/15/12 - Both IV fees show as "PAID"

We are October filers 17th(CSC) for IR-1..still waiting. :crying: So,you are fine,I should worry more

They said 5 months was an estimate~ :crying:

It's time to call them again.

Hang in there. You'll here from them soon. :thumbs:

They cash the check when they see that all your papers are in order.

It doesn't mean though, that you won't get an RFE (request for evidence)

or that is is approved yet. But it's a good start. :yes:

And about the online status...the best thing you can do, is not to check it. In our case, it still stated 'pending' online, even though we've been approved for weeks. Don't know if you guys did...but back then we didn't file a G-1145 E-Notification. Well, hope it helped. Good luck!

Our case(CR1) is Oct.7 2011, still in review, no decision, many cases after us already got approval, I will get mad if waiting any longer, do you feel very hopeless? I feel so hopeless, even think the case will never get approved.
