hello friends, thanks for all your update and time for answering to all our questions, pls i would like to know what the letter of intent is?thanks

For the interview?

If for the interview simple letter "Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F)." I had mine notarized just to be safe.

This is what we used:

Date

"Petitioners Info"

United States Department of State

United States Consulate, Ghana

P.O. Box GP 2288

Accra, Ghana

RE: Continued Support of Case "xxx" for "Benefactor".

To Whom It May Concern:

I, "Petitioner", do hereby state that I am legally able to marry "Benefactor" of Ghana. I will marry him within 90 days of his arrival on a K-1 Visa in the United States. I understand we also must continue with his Adjustment of Status after our marriage for him to be able to become a resident. This petition is still active and desired by me the petitioner.

Sincerely,

"Petitioner"

i forgot to have my fiancee send one for my interview, and at this point its a little too late to have her send it to me in Ghana since my interview is in a week. how necessary is this letter of intent? will a CO really turn you back even if you have provided everything required and proved a bonafide relationship? i guess you never know, so one must cover every aspect. ahhhh

If the letter of intent is required then you will not have "provided everythign required" and Yes they will turn you back if you do not provide everything required. They will issue a 221g form with a request for the needed documents and hold your visa until they get them. Have your fiance scan and email you a copy, it is better than nothing and may be accepted OR send one Fedex which would be better.

This is required- I agree with Gary and Allah if you can at least get a scanned copy but they like an original. Notarized is best however- no questions asked.
