My I-130 forms for me and my son is nearly complete  and ready to be sent off (Roll on pay day)!!

Just wanted to know what format to put my mobile number on the G-1145 form (husband wants me to be contacted rather than him). I am over thinking everything, I just want to check it with you gurus (I just don't want to do anything wrong).

How should I write it? With the international code or just +44?

Thanks

Porsha

It's just for a text to say the mail arrived. If he can't be bothered with one text message, then don't put any number. Put your email address and you'll get the email saying the petition was delivered. You don't have to be notified two ways. Then that's all the usefulness for the G-1145. I know you're all shiny new and excited, and I'm probably being too practical. Sorry. Just ignore me.

I think I'm just very shiny and new. I will probably be less enthusiastic in a couple months.

Thanks for letting me know, I put down his number and my email, he thought more info was coming through than that (I'm the organised one).

Your advice has been really good, and practical is the best way most of the time.. It's the British way!

Once you get the receipt (NOA1) you can sign up on USCIS with the case number. Then you can log in and check it til you're crazy or sign up for text and/or email alerts. If anything changes in the status (RFE, approval) it will generate a text or email. I got mine aroud the same time for the N-400. The text just said log on and check your status. The email had details...You have been scheduled for biometric appt and will get a letter blah blah...

With an I-130, not much is going to change along the way in status except RFE or approval. Once it goes to NVC, it's no longer with USCIS and the case status at USCIS ceases. You could enter your mobile with the +44 xxxxxxxxx and see if an international text goes through. If not you still get an email.

A word about the case status thing. It's not always dependable. Example our greencard application (K1 stuff) never changed. No email saying card production ordered. One day there was a greencard in the mailbox. Case status was still pending. Over a year later I had an email saying the card was ordered. Whatever! So I checked case status and it had finally changed. Kinda weird.

Not a thing wrong with being shiny and new. I've got six application case numbers now on my USCIS login. I hovered over the first. Now I can't even remember my current password because I know eventually it will get done whether I check it or not. I get an email that tells me I'm going to get a letter, but I have to wait on the letter to know when the appointment is.
