Well, thankfully, well thought out laws aren't formulated based on conjecture. There is a process and you can't simply circumvent that process out of frustration without basically losing confidence in that system itself. And if that's the case, we have a lot more serious issues when the public no longer believes in our branches of government.

But isn't the Obama Administration doing just that? Through various policies adopted by ICE, under Director John Morton, this administration is circumventing current immigration legislation, without any Congressional oversight whatsoever.

What are they circumventing? I thought they were prioritizing deportations. Seeing that the government does not have the resources to deport all 12-20 million illegal aliens, they need to figure out who they will send home with the resources available. So you can adopt a "first caught, first gone" type process or you can prioritize based on certain criteria - violent criminals first, for example. What Congress is failing to do is address the actual source of the problem - employers offering jobs to those not authorized to work here. Go after the motivation for illegal migrants to come here in the first place. That would be a cure for rather than management of the symptoms of the disease.

That's like saying it's OK to break the law and rob a bank if a bank chooses to leave its safe wide open all day/night. You know it's wrong, but since they were the ones to leave it open, it's OK to go ahead and steal from them. You won't be punished, they will for "luring" you in. ( don't get me wrong on this, the bank is stupid in doing such a thing, but at the same time you cannot place them as the ones at fault by themselves).

At the end of the day, every single illegal in this country is an enemy and a criminal. They have crossed the border of a sovereign nation. You can't handpick which criminals are worse than the others, because frankly you don't know who they are/what they've done in their own home country, so who would you let them go and trust them here for 5 mins longer. They obviously don't give a damn about our laws.

Arizona couldn't decide to build it's own nuclear arsenal just because the state felt the federal government wasn't doing a sufficient job of securing our nation from foreign enemies.

NYC has its own army, navy, tanks and a submarine.

No, it's not. Not unless it's illegal for the bank to leave it's safe open. The employers are breaking the law. Now, there are 12MM illegal immigrants but only a fraction of that number in law braking employers. Without the latter, the former would not exist. It makes sense, then to go after the source of the problem rather than chasing after the symptoms. If you break your leg and that causes you great pain, you'd expect doctors to do more than just give you painkillers to address the pain. You'd expect them to see to it that your fracture - the source of your pain - is treated.

The law against employers is misguided however. It's a law to "scare" the people who aren't the problem. At the end of the day the problem is the people crossing the border. If our borders were more secure and they could never reach the employers to begin with, it wouldn't be an issue.

If the borders were secure? Go ahead and build a 10 ft wall. Someone will set-up shop on the other side selling 12 ft ladders. Short of going down the path of an "anti-imperialistic protection wall" type border, you won't seal anything. It's a myth that the US border can be tightened to the point where there will be no illegal crossings. But even if you could accomplish that, remember that nearly half of your illegal aliens crossed the border through a POE in a perfectly legal way. They just never left.

Again, if you break your leg and have tremendous pain as a result, don't you want to have the source of your pain addressed - i.e. that broken leg fixed - as opposed to merely having your pain managed?

Indeed, the source of the problem is employment. Get rid of jobs and illegals will go home. To do that, we need higher taxes (both corporate and personal), more burdensome regulations, more class warfare (blame the rich), more income redistribution and more attacks on private enterprise as corrupt, greedy and non-caring.

The Obama administration is actually doing very well on all counts - so much so that Mexican migration into the United States has come to a standstill and may soon reverse, according to this report.

That's a silly argument. Try a 12 foot ladder on this wall:

The source is nothing to blame on this side of the border however. The source is the corrupt/####### governments of their home countries.

If the millions upon millions who have crossed the border would rise up against their own BS governments, then we wouldn't have this problem.

The people "fleeing" are nothing but a bunch of wimps who don't know how to fight for what's right in their own home land. Instead they run here, come in illegally, use our resources, system, etc. The whole time talking about how their home country is so great raising its flag above their home! It's pathetic.

And it looks like the government choked again. Even Sotamayer was disdainful.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor told Verrilli that the government’s argument that “systematic enforcement” might violate federal law was “not selling.”

This is from MSNBC.

"The justices strongly suggested Wednesday they are not buying the Obama administration's argument that the state exceeded its authority when it made the records check part of SB 1070, the state law aimed at driving illegal immigrants out of Arizona."

You've got the luxury of not having experienced what billions of people have experienced. The luxury of never having lived anywhere but in a free and prosperous country. Not because you're so fcuking brave and not because you worked so fcuking hard to get there but because of where you happened to be born. You merely display the arrogance of a well-fed who is disgusted by the table manners of the starving. That, indeed, is pathetic!
