When will I receive receipt numbers?

I sent in my application package (I-485-, I- 130, I-765, I-131...) to Chicago last week. According to the return receipt I just got today, USCIS received my package last Thursday. I'm a bit anxious. Can someone tell me when I will be able to receive the receipt? I checked my bank account, they haven't cashed the checks yet. How long does it take for them to open my package and start processing it? Thanks.

It took about 6 days for me to get my NOA1s but I live in Illinois about 1.5 hours from Chicago ... I would atleast give it a week or 2 .... and don't forget it was Columbus Day yesterday and I am pretty sure they didn't work yesterday ...

Mine too even longer. Took a little over 3 weeks from mailing to NOA1. :wacko: And another week before I received it in the mail.

6/14/06 - I-129f packet ready to send

6/15/06 - Decided to delay sending and use new form when available

6/28/06 - Finally mailed to Nebraska Service Center

7/20/06 - NOA1

9/20/06 - Touched for the very first time

9/21/06 - Email NOA2 wooohhooo faster than we had hoped for

9/25/06 - Snail Mail NOA2

9/25/06 - Received at NVC, verified with phone call

9/27/06 - Sent to embassy in Bangkok! Hoping my love will be here for the holidays!!!

9/30/06 - Arrived at embassy and waiting for packet 3

10/24/06 - Finally recieved packet 3

11/22/06 - Packet 3 sent to BKK embassy

11/24/06 - Embassy received packet 3

01/08/07 - Received packet 4 from BKK embassy

01/29/07 - Embassy Interview

01/30/07 - VISA in hand!!

02/05/07 - Returning to states with POE @ SFO

04/05/07 - Filed AOS

04/13/07 - NOA for I-485

They received my package on 28 Sept and I got the NOA's on 6 Oct.... anyway, the receipt numbers are not in the system yet. (By now I've learned to be patient though ;) )

So give them a couple more days.... don't worry :)

Yeah it will take them a few days and maybe even 2 or 3 weeks to cash those checks and mail out your NOA1's. Just be patient, it will happen :)

Mine was rec'd on 10/1/06 w/ a notice date of 10/5/06, checks cashed on 10/6/06 and I rec'd it on 10/7/06 --- but as of today, they are not on the online system yet.

I sent ours in on September 27th- I have yet to get the return receipt from USPS let alone an NOA1. On the USPS site it says it was received in Chicago but still waiting to get the NOA1.
