CAN RFE IN I-485 AFFECT EAD

Hello everybody, we filed for AOS and EAD in mid march and I have done the biometrics on 9th of april. But my headache is this, I got a RFE in I-485 for another I-864 because the one we submitted fell short of standard and I am not sure if its going to affect my EAD. Please can anybody with the same experience please share their thoughts on this issue. I am frustrated, I need to start working.

take it from me, i filed at the same time as you, had biometrics on the same day and got the RFE for a single tax year on the 13th. well when i asked on here and called the hotline, they said that EAD has no relation to the RFE for the i-485

HOWEVER

on the RFE paper it clearly states that they wont process the i-765 application until the answer for RFE is submitted.. so who knows..

Thanks, I am very disturbed, I have not been able to mailed the RFE back to them but I wish it does not delay the EAD

You'll be fine...expect it between 70-90 days...if it is past 90 days, give them a call. Until then, relax and if it comes earlier, rejoice. :)

July 2005 - met my awesome, hot, amazing love in Lousiana.
July 2006 - Married said love and moved to Canada.
June 2011 - Entered US to visit family, decided to stay.
Feb. 2012 - Sent paperwork to Chicago.

April 3rd 2012: I 130 send to Chicago

May 16th 2012: I 485, I 765, I 131 send by USPS priority mail at the Chicago lockbox

May 18th 2012: AOS received and signed by D.Colonna at 2:18pm at Chicago

June 4th 2012: got my all package return, restarting from level zero again :((((

June 6th 2012 Wednesday (day 0): Info pass and resend the whole package by USPS express mail at the chicago lockbox

June 7th 2012 Thursday (day 1) : package received and signed by Arturo B at 11:45 am

June 19th 2012 Tuesday (day 12): text notification that application was received by USCIS

June 20th 2012 Wednesday (day 13): check was cashed

June 26th 2012 Tuesday (day 19): Hardcopy NOA dated June 19th.

June 28th 2012 Thursday (day 21): appointment notice for bio on July 9th at 1:00 pm

Yes, it did delay my EAD. But after I mailed the RFE back to them, it only take just two weeks for them to send my EAD. Good luck and what did they request?

Last year takxes, so I will have to fill cause we didn't do it. We lived abroad......

The hotline is nicknamed "the misinformation line" for a reason.

Yes, if your RFE is sent before your EAD is sent to production you will not get it until you reply to the RFE. If your EAD was sent to production BEFORE the RFE (which has happened by a difference of a day to at least one person causing confusion about the whole RFE/EAD thing) then of course you'll get your EAD.

Yes. until you reply to the RFE and they process your response both your EAD and AP (if you applied for it) are paused.
