Can I send copies of the tax returns, rather than originals? My co-sponsors filed taxes in Puerto Rico, but since taxes there are mainly filed in Spanish then I'll have to get them translated either way, and there's no way for them to get the originals in Puerto Rico.

copies of tax returns (1040) and W-2 s are acceptable, and so are tax transcripts. you can request your last 3 years tax transcripts from irs thru link: https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/irfof-tra/start.do it takes up to 10 days to get it in the mail. Good luck!
