Hi everyone!

I found a page giving me 2 options for deliver the I-129F, but whats the difference? one is for Dallas USCS and the other says Courrier or express, How much would cost to send the petition in this different ways?

How long it usually takes for the package to be delivered to USCS, I know depends on where you are but say you near Dallas.

Thank you.

One is regular mail and one is express. Ours was sent by Fed ex. I think it was $33. Dallas is the lockbox, and from there it gets sent to the service center.

Welcome to the forum.

All submissions end up at the same place, the USCIS Dallas Texas lockbox facility. For USPS service, use the P.O. Box address indicated; anything else, i.e., FedEx, UPS, DHL, use the street address indicated. I think that this is the info you refer to: Form I-129F instructions.

As soon as they do their initial processing and sorting at the Lockbox facility (NOT the Texas Service Center), they ship the petitions to either the California Service Center or the Vermont Service Center for adjudication. You should then get your I-797c notification (NOA1) shortly afterwards, then comes the 4-6 month wait for your I-797 notification (NOA2) , provided you don't have any RFEs.

BTW, I sent my petition USPS, certified, delivery receipt requested, it took a couple of days from Seattle, and was $20-30. I just wanted to make sure it got there. Speediness at that point of the visa journey was of little consequence to me.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Thank you for the information

But how come the cost was only 30 bucks? I am going to send like 3 kg of material such as chat log printed and all the proof. Well I was concerning about the price, I guess not anymore.

You may be able to shave off a few grams of weight by only including a "reasonable" representation of chat/email logs as proof of an ongoing relationship. There are other items that can also be used as proof of an ongoing relationship. Be certain to include copies of travel documents, copes of entire passport with transit stamps, joint itineraries, airline boarding passes, joint, dated, photos, receipts, hotel bills, etc., as examples of having actually met within the past 2 years. Refer to this site's step-by-step K-1 guides for details.

Sending in ALL of the chat logs is likely unnecessary, and may result in a delay in processing of your petition. This may be one of those times that a little may be good, and a lot is not a lot better. :hehe:

My petition was right around a kilo in weight, and was likely too much. However, it did git 'er done!

Good luck.

You are entering a process that is going to take years (NOA2 is the start, not the finish) and getting the petition there in 1 day or 4 days will make exactly 3 days difference in the entire 4 year process. What is it worth to you?

I always used US Postal Service, delivery confirmation. No return reciept needed.

Another question, for example if I use USPS the docs should be adressed to this in the form letter of intend?

United States Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

The USCIS Dallas Lockbox

USCIS

P.O. Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

It looks a little redundant...redundant.... redundant...you mention the same agency three times, shown in red.

How about:

United States Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

P.O. Box 660151

Dallas, TX 75266

and call it good ? (That's what mine looked like.)

Of course, it is your petition. Good luck.

Thank you very much for your tip about chat log wich actually has over 500 pages, how should I make it smaller? by leaving like 1 page for the day? I just wanna prove then that we been talking every day on skype, fb and stuff, and the best way was printing all the skype conversation.

It would be helpful to know which country is involved because not all of them need to see a huge amount of proof upfront, especially when it comes to chat logs.

I agree, getting the petition there "quickly" is of little consequence in the context of the whole immigration marathon timeline.

Yea, that will certainly work. I guess after all these years of annually dealing with another Federal agency (IRS), I just treated USCIS the same way. I have always requested a return receipt. Either way will get the job done.

BTW: Gary and Alla: Congratulations on obtaining your citizenship!!!!

True, but you can let us know -- either in this thread or through your profile -- which country is involved. While the petition process is similar for most, there are distinct differences depending on the country involved and that's when the people who have gone through that embassy can be invaluable to you.
