Don't know about the guns thing BUT don't it demands maturity and responsibility to go out and hit the road? because our states governments give Driver licenses to underage teens as younger as 16 which is younger than 17 . How come a "child" is allow to own and use a thousand pounds potential deadly weapon in the street among us all every day? Wouldn't be this that the government consider that those "Kids" are mature and responsable enough to do it and also that they are capable of taking seconds death life decisions. Give me a break.

Zimmerman left the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford at 12:05 a.m. Monday after making bail.

Hours later, in documents filed in court by his attorney Mark O'Mara, Zimmerman entered a written not guilty plea and waived the right to appear at his arraignment. The arraignment has been scheduled for May 8.

It was not immediately known where Zimmerman headed after leaving the jail. Family members and O'Mara had stressed the need for secrecy regarding Zimmerman's destination. Both he and his family have received threats, they said.

Zimmerman is a legal adult and chose to exercise his right to carry a gun. He then used it to kill a teenager in a confrontation that he(Zimmerman) started. Some on here question why Trayvon did not try harder to flee from this aggressor! I point out that when one exercises his right to carry a gun he must by necessity accept the responsibility that accompanies exercise of this right! Trayvon was not a legal adult and would not have the legal right to be carrying a gun to defend himself. For multiple reasons the burden falls on Zimmerman to be the one to show restraint! He failed in this obligation and now fully deserves the trial for and possible punishment that comes for 2nd degree murder! He took a life without reasonable cause.

Rights and responsibilities must be taken together!

you are speculating that Z did not show restraint. all you know is Z pulled the trigger.

unless you are an eyewitness, or saw actual video footage of the incident, how can you "know" he didn't show restraint and/or what really transpired that night?

i'm waiting for the judge/jury and will recognize the findings.

Yeah, I am speculating. I am also speculating that a person exists by the name George Zimmerman and that he killed a teenager by the name Trayvon Martin! All I have to go on for any of these supposed facts is what has been said and written in the news media!

IF what we have been told is largely true I will go out on a limb and say that Zimmerman failed to show restraint at multiple steps in all of this and culminated in not restraining himself from committing an un-justified homicide of a teenager armed with skittles and iced tea!

He probably meant chased, but case, in hoodlum lingo, used to mean checking something, someone, or someplace out before you commit a crime against it.

Stating that it is every 'race' that must take responsibility for its actions would pretty much make you a 'racist'! I do not believe I am responsible for what every other white person does. One is responsible for ones own actions! Trayvon was NOT guilty because he was black!!!

I am not saying anything about Trayvon OR Zimmerman. I said that the justice department will handle Z and that all the 'Non-racists' need to stop taking out bounties and banning businesses etc etc. Just because an incident happened with 1 black person does not mean it was racism BUT what do you think Black panthers and the rest, their actions are motivated by? Leave the issue with the authorities and discourage or talk sense into Black panthers etc etc because if all you see is Z and nothing else then one of us might be a racist and its not me.

So, per the timeline thread, he ran at the point of the car door opening. Had it been me, I would have stayed in my car and circled round to the rear gate...which means we never would have met. Buts thats just me. If I had gotten out of my car, thats not breaking the law of course, nor is following someone.

Fair enough. I don't have any personal contact with the black panthers and do not intend to try and increase the chances that I will. But if I do I will urge them to take a less racist attitude.
