Awwww you guys are too much! It's so nice to know I've been missed. :luv:

And yes actually I've been busy with the cows...and merging (havent done it again yet, I'm too freakin scared), doing a lot of painting in the house and yes Dean...doing some laundry too. :D

Since yesterday my main focus has been a new-born calf that I saved from the brink of death when I found her half-dead in the field behind the barn. It was due to my noticing about 6 or 7 vultures circling overhead and when I attempted to see just what it was they were after, my eyes spotted her down where 3 more vultures were surrounding her just waiting for the inevitable. :( It seems her Mama had TWINS and this smaller calf was left behind and rejected. I carried this 50 lb. little darling all the way from the field to the house about a 1/4 mile because hubby had taken my van yesterday of all days when his truck wouldnt start in the morning. She was shivering terribly, completely caked in mud, it was even in her mouth, poor soul, I

wasn't sure if she'd make it but I was sure gonna give it one helluva try. I gotta tell ya...it's the very first time I can say that I had a calf in my kitchen! Long story short, she's absolutely fine now. I cleaned her up. warmed her up and got some warm milk in her belly (the milk in a rubber glove thing REALLY does work!) and the vet came and checked her and gave her some meds and a shot to prevent infection and told me I'd probably saved her life (Yay me! ). But NOW I have to KEEP her alive hahaha. I don't mind of course, just a bit of work and omg she's the most adorable thing I have ever had the pleasure to care for. She's in the barn now where she (And I) is more comfortable haha and not taking her first steps in my kitchen anymore....lol.

I took this pic when I first brought her into the house yesterday morning just before I started cleaning her up. I honestly doubted that she was going to live :crying:

1000510r9rt.jpg

This was taken about 3 hours later after she'd been cleaned and dried and fed. First time I'd ever had a calf taking it's first steps in my kitchen! hehehe

10005516hk.jpg

And this was taken in the barn about 2 hours ago when she had her last feeding for the evening.

1000588r9oj.jpg

Okies! That's it in a nutshell! So I guess maybe I do have a life after all hehe...it's about time, no? :P

I WILL be around tho so don't talk about me cuz I

ll know! :D

Sharon how wonderful of you!!! :luv:(L)

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007
