If you're having trouble waiting for this stuff,

just wait until you're standing in a line snaked

all the way around the outside of a building at

the DMV, just to take a number and go inside

and wait some more.

Wait until you get to the post office, and they

have 2 window cashiers and 1 other employee

standing off to the side selling 'just stamps'

that no one needs to buy cause they're waiting

in line to utilize the window services.

Life is full of lines and waiting.

Better get used to it. Quickly.

That's all.

Our 5 months is almost up (4/23/12)

Today called in to check which NOA the California CS was processing for I-130 CR1 petitions and was given the date of September 10.

That's impossible given that 9/10/12 falls on a SATURDAY! Do federal govt. employees work and/or receive mail for processing on Saturdays?

This is certainly news to me. What's even more infuriating is the fact that I called 10 days ago to check the ETA and was told they were processing October! How did we go BACK IN TIME??

I was also told that BECAUSE my petition was received on 11/23/11 and given that they are only processing petitions received 9/10/11 I would have to wait 74 more days before they would get to mine.

On the USCIS website the processing times haven't changed and continue to remain as 5 months. I know this is only an estimate, but it needs to be UPDATED to reflect that the ACTUAL DELAYED processing time is 6-8 months just for the NOA2.

5 MONTHS IS LONG ENOUGH FOR JUST WAITING AROUND DOING NOTHING!!!

Be thankful your NOA2 could land in your good hands soon when you're not too anxious about it  . I got a friend here under CR1 petition and has been waiting for that notice for 17 months now, did infopass, contacted Congressman, Senator and all she got was "AP-you have to wait"..very frustrating eh.Another member here (american petitioner) moved to Manila Philippines despite his health issues just to be with his wife as they have been hanging for that same notice for more than 2 years now. Sometimes you have to look down to appreciate, to hope and better our selves in this waiting game. The 5 months is just an estimate, it is never a promise.

God Bless you and hangin in their 7 months. Hey theory here. Seems when people post on here that are waiting a bit they get approvals so maybe yours be coming soon.

And the lines here. LOL you are so right. Well thank God the DMV aren't the ones processing these petitions good Lord we all would have an age issue by the time we were adjudicated.

And to the OP you will drive yourself crazy mad if you try and make sense of all this. If they are doing these on a "first come first basis" than how is it that people in December, January, February have already been approved. I have a friend from NOA1 to their Visa interview approval last week was 5 months. Who knows how they select files and what they go by. She submitted 15 lbs of evidence I submitted 2.11 lbs and it was about 3 inches so hers had to be what 15 inches tall LOL.

All we can do is hold on and prepare ourselves for our hunni's arrival. I know I am trying to learn how to cook all these Nigerian meals. Even though I lived with husband in Nigeria for 6 1/2 months I never got to cook for him Mum and Auntie did all that.

So I say post on here vent your frustrations help others here (that soooo helps when you can see someone else in the same position you were in ). and you will be fine approval will come and you'll look back at this and just laugh with your Visa in one hand and hunni in the other.

Did I say I filed 1 month 1 day ago. Woooo whooo. kicking.gifkicking.gif

we are all waiting ....It's not easy for sure :( We all want to live normal life's like all.I'm tired of all this 6000 miles across the Atlantic to see my husband he should be with me.But one day he will; I have faith and we will live our life's like normal married couples

Everytime you call, you petition is "touched" and that means nothing, they are processed as they come, first come, first serve, careful not to tick someone off, your petition could go to the bottom of the pile. Few years ago there was a much longer back log of petitions, and they hired over 1200 new people to process, and even shuffled the load from one processing center to another to equal out the mess. Keep in mind, they are human, and do have to have time off, they are doing their jobs best they can. Start working on your NVC paperwork, be prepared and a step ahead.

We all want to be with our spoused, but ticking off USCIS is not going to help you.

I deal with government agencies every day, government dont do anything quickly. They are given stacks of petitions a day, they go through and read everything. It is a time consuming process.....

You can always chunk out the $1000.00 for premium processing and get an answer in 15 days.....

Premium processing is only available for employment based applications and not for family or fiancee applications.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Calling does not generate a touch. The person on the phone with you is a call center employee. He has no access to your petition. He can't touch it. He can do absolutely nothing to it. Including telling you what is going on with it.

Ticking someone on the phone off will likewise not mean that they put your petition at the bottom of the pile. He is no where near your petition, in it's box, on the shelf, waiting.

If you are not clear about what happens to petitions, or do not have an understanding of the process, please do not post as though you do. It causes confusion, and misinformation to abound.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I think it's perfectly reasonable and understandable to be outraged by these ridiculous processing times, and even vent out that frustration from time to time. Doesn't mean we're not living our lives, keeping busy and enjoying whatever each day brings to each one of us. Just because it is the way it is doesn't mean we all have to pretend to be "fine" with it.

They're in each other all along.”
