what kind of questions are 10yr olds asked in the interview after we are done with NVC stage?

HI everyone, last year this time I did my adjustment of status it went perfectly, now Im finally at the stage my husband and I can afford to petition for my daughter :) I am so excited , I have been lurking on here trying to gather info on the process, there doesnt seem to be much :( I will be filing the I130 by end of this month, but just wanted to say hi to you all. This process looks long, but as long as I get this started, I will feel so much better. I cant wait to call her and tell her I finally did it! Good luck to all of you and will post back soon!

is there anyone on this thread in the same boat as me-stand alone i-130s for kids?

I filed stand-alone I-130s for my four stepsons back in September. Just got notice yesterday of the petition approvals so now we are looking forward to the next steps in the process. That puts us in the same boat I guess happy.png

Have you made it through to case complete yet at the NVC? I hear they are running slower than they were, I'm trying to get my head wrapped around an estimate of how long we should expect to wait before the interview.

i got the case no and IIN for my kid but the guy refused to accept the email addresses since am not the petitioner but mother to the beneficiary. will try calling in again. do you guys think i should create an email address for her and give it over to nvc when i call or use my own email address?

Will the petitioner be able to call to give over the email addresses? When I was managing my husband's case at the NVC, I gave over both mine and his email addresses, but if I remember correctly I logged in to his account any time I sent any documents to the NVC (we did all electronic processing since it was mandatory for Mexico by that time). But the situation was different, since I was the petitioner. If you're the primary one managing the process, you'll want easy access to NVC correspondence. If it's not possible for you to use the petitioner's email account, you may want to look into creating one for the beneficiary. I'd look around the forums and see if that could create a problem, you never know. How old is the child?

We just got to the NVC too with my three stepkids. Our NOA2 was January 22, but as of last week when I called they were still "uploading into the system" and didn't have a number yet. I'll call again tomorrow, and hopefully they'll have it now, because I've got all our papers ready for this step and we're just waiting for an NVC number.

Thanks for the welcome sascafig. Congrats on your progress so far, whatever happens u will be having those boys over by Christmas so tht will be super!

We can't wait to be able to spend a holiday together with our kids all under one roof. My two children haven't even been able to meet three of their stepbrothers yet!

We just got to the NVC too with my three stepkids. Our NOA2 was January 22, but as of last week when I called they were still "uploading into the system" and didn't have a number yet. I'll call again tomorrow, and hopefully they'll have it now, because I've got all our papers ready for this step and we're just waiting for an NVC number.

So it's been six weeks since your NOA2 and still no numbers are available? Wow, things really have slowed down since the last time I had to go through all this! I know it's frustrating to have all your documents prepared and yet be forced to wait for the NVC to generate numbers and bills before you can do anything. After six months just waiting for the NOA2, you think we could catch a break somewhere *sigh*

I've made peace with resigning all this to God's hands, knowing the timing is perfect for His reasons not mine, but being patient gets so difficult when you are separated from your loved ones!

Yup, just called again, still no case number :( She said they received it February 14, so it took over two weeks from when it was sent, and it's now been 3 weeks from when they received it. She couldn't give me any time frame except the generic "we have to tell you 30 days". She said they will send the info by email when they get it uploaded since I filled out G-1145, but I don't really trust that since I got emails for NOA1 but not NOA2...I guess I'll just keep calling every couple of days.

Keep calling them and also be patient, the process has become slow of late. just got my case no this week after it was reveived on the 24th of Jan.

we have already paid for the AOS and submitted the ds261, though no email or mail communication from nvc.
