We prefer that he completes the school term before making the move.

The CO only said 'do not make any plans until the visa is in your hand because you never know what can happen'. I guess he said this because although they approve you on the spot they may find something that can make them change their mind. This even happens with visitors visa, I know someone who waited almost 3 months to get back the passport with the visa in it and this person did not have a bad record anywhere.

WOW okay yeah that makes sense. I remember that did happen with my husband. They forgot to fingerprint him etc...changed ticket 3 times. So yeah its a great reminder!!

Something in this process will go your way and you will get your daughter here.

I'm sure you've already seen this from the embassy website:

Individuals with appointments to apply for visas or to collect DNA samples on October 24th should not come to the Embassy. Their appointments will be rescheduled, possibly for November 7. The Embassy is in the process of contacting applicants directly.

http://kingston.usembassy.gov/pr_10232012.html

Hope everyone stays safe and you can get this sorted out.

Thanks sancruz! I can't believe how nice they were! We got some bad info about not needing to pick up her medical and bringing it to the interview. When my hubbie took her to get the TB read they said they would send it over. So when we got to the interview and they asked about it, they said that we were approved but they had to wait for the medical and it could take up to 6 weeks. But then the lady said, its still early, why don't you run over to the medical place and see if he could get it. So, we waited at the embassy and my hubbie went and got it. They let him back in. We went back to the window and the lady gave us the green approval ticket and marked the visa urgent for production! She was so kind! That and the drama of me having my earphones and charger for phone in my purse (no phone or other electronics mind you), so, the over zealous security peeps sent me outside and,ade me get back in line. So, by the time I got in, my husband said they had already called our name. When they called again they asked why we were late. So, my husband explained what they did at security. But from that point on they were very sweet. Talking to my daughter and asking just a few questions. All of that and we were still finished pretty quick and with great success. She loves dragging her suitcase around. So excited to go with us! Thanks to all who answered questions and cheered us along the process. May you all get the outcome you wish for. I can't wait to bring our little gilr home and introduce her to so many things!

That is so great. I get all nervous just reading about it because i cant wait until that is us.

I've been wanting to ask what kind of letter did yall need to get from the biological mom? Did it just say she was giving her permission to move to the United States or was there more to it?

We talked to our little one tonight (she will be 3 on December 1st) and she is so excited and so ready to come. Biological mom said everytime she sees a airplane she asks "is that my poppy coming to get me?" I can't wait and hope we have a positive experience like you guys did.

Hope you get the visa and everything really soon. Good Luck on your final flight through this process. Congrats again. You can finally take a long breath knowing that all your hard work paid off and that your little one is going to have a great life :-)

Have you purchased plane tickets back or are you waiting until you have visa in hand?
