Hello, all!

I'm keeping an eye on this forum since in a year or two I may be petitioning for one or more of my stepsons. However right now we need to get their tourist visas so they can come visit and see what it's like and at least spend time with their dad once he is here on his CR-1.

We had one visa approved three weeks ago and three denied today. :crying:

I'm posting a link to a topic in the Tourist Visa forum, and am hoping that before starting the petition process, someone here has gone through a similiar situation. If so, please PLEASE check out my post and leave me whatever morsels of information you think will help us. We are desperately heartbroken right now, we want the boys here for Christmas and I just don't know what to do at this point.

Yes a copy of the packet we sent andsome more pictures showing us with her since she was a baby. I don't have another copy of her birth certificate. should probably get another one while we are down there. although I think they are supposed to give the original back at interview. My husband just sent me a message that when he took her to the medical yesterday they gave her all her shots even though she has records. Poor baby. She is so little and just got those shots a year or so ago! I can't stand that they did that to her.

When does your husband leave?

Leaving on the 23rd. Yes they do that alot. Poor baby indeed.

gdalicia - Very nice! You will be out of NVC in no time!

Great attitude PSDAVID!

I saw a post the other day about there being a big backlog at El Salvador and that it is taking some time to get interviews scheduled. Hopefully you will hear something soon.

Andrea&Sergio - So sorry about the 3 denials. Wish I could help but I don't have any useful information for you. Hopefully you will get some information in your thread.

Congrats Velrich!!!

I think you are the first approval in our thread!!

Now I feel obliged to ask but what were the 4 questions your son was asked? Was there anything special you brought to the interview?

I hope the visa arrives quickly! Do you have your plane tickets yet?

Congrats again! :star:

CONGRATS!! Such wonderful news. We are hoping to get our interview date soon for my step daughter and were/are concerned about the whole DNA thing in Jamaica. My husband is on the birth certificate, has been really involved in her life and is a US citizen applying for our daughter, but we are all just ready for her to be home with us. Were the questions comfortable for a 12 year old?

Congrats again and thanks for the update. I've been waiting to see something on here from those filing from Jamaica!

No plane ticket yet. I am taking the CO advice and not book anything until the visa is in hand. Looking for a December entry date.

Questions:

1. Who is filing for you?

2. Have you ever travelled out of Jamaica? Where? Did you go by yourself? Did the Boston Winter shock you?

That's it.

Thanks for all the support guys. I appreciate it.

Nice! IS there a reason you would wait until December? I mean that isnt what they said is it. It is usually 5 to 7 business days they have their visa and can go.

We prefer that he completes the school term before making the move.

The CO only said 'do not make any plans until the visa is in your hand because you never know what can happen'. I guess he said this because although they approve you on the spot they may find something that can make them change their mind. This even happens with visitors visa, I know someone who waited almost 3 months to get back the passport with the visa in it and this person did not have a bad record anywhere.
