Blurg. Choice of Agent email got rejected because it was not from the "petitioner/applicant/legal representative".

I had asked NVC if it was ok to use the father's email address for the beneficiaries email because they were under 16 and they said that was fine. So the choice of agent was sent from my husband's email. We got the response back today and it said it could not be accepted because the correspondence was not from the petitioner/applicant/legal representative. The first woman I talked to today said the email came back because my husband's email is not associated with the case - even though his email was the one she read back to me for the beneficiary. She said I need to send it again from my email aka the petitioner's email. The second time I called the woman said it didn't matter which email I sent it from but that the document needed to be signed, scanned and attached to the email.

We received the barcoded DS-3032 form in the mail the other day so I guess we will fill that out and send it from my email(?).

Has anyone else had this happen?

It was a full week.

Jamaicagyaldat - I think you are asking me  They are 10 and 12. I sent the barcoded form filled out and signed by my husband from my email address yesterday so we will see what happens. It says right in the email they sent to me that children under 16 can have the form signed by the parent.

luvwtrNamy - Are you checking in? I saw an old post of yours and it looks like you might have been a similar situation....but you might be making plans for your interview :)

Hi! Sorry work has gotten crazy and since I am just now waiting for the interview, I haven't been signing on as much! Beejay, I'm sorry they are giving you such grief. That doesn't make sense. Did you forget to sign it the first time? We filled it out. My husband signed it and I wrote on behalf of minor child next to his name. He's daddy. We emailed it as an attachment from his email. I had given his email as the beneficiary email when the NVC first received the application. I also wrote the beneficiary's name and age and our NVc number in the re: part. And in the body of email. I wrote our info. My name and BD and her name and BD, the NVC # But that sounds like all the stuff you did so I don't know why they rejected yours and not mine. It's wacky. Sorry. Hang in there maybe they will like this one. Did you put some hearts and flowers around the edges? Maybe that will put a smile on their face and they will accept it! Worth a try. LOL

 No hearts and flowers the first time. Those NVCers are so finicky :P

The first time we just used the email template from the vjwiki which I thought other people had done and were successful but maybe that isn't advisable when it's for a minor and you aren't sending from their email address. Blurg, I was trying to cut too many corners.

We had talked about including an updated permission letter from the kids' mother for the IV packet. I think we will get that now that we have the 'extra' time. She is pregnant and getting closer to her due date so I'm trying to limit how much we bug her with last minute stuff. We have time now to send someone out there with the letter to make it easy for her.

Thankfully, you have other priorities right now luvwtrNamy, so no worries :) Stay focused on what you need to :star:

My advice would be never send them anything they don't ask for. I sent just the items they asked for the IV; DS230, copy of beneficiary's information page of passport, two passport pics, BC original, translation if needed, and a copy of BC. This is for a child, right? Am I missing something?

I called the NVC last Thursday, got a grumpy agent! Poor guy. Having a bad day. No scheduled interview yet! Thank god this is one of the craziest times of my year at work so i am not sitting at home thinking about the interview. I'm also keeping myself busy setting up her room. Sold a large piece of furniture this week that was in the other bedroom. Bought more cold weather clothes for her. Anything to make the time go by!

Jamaica-any word on your interview?

Beejay- if I understood, you only inserted the DS3032 into the body of the email? I think that was the problem. You also have to attach the actual scanned copy with signature. So, this time you should be fine! Hope you hear soon! Start stalking the payment site. You should be able to pay the AOS very soon!

Yes it is just for child. Wow I really did not expect this kind of time an effort for a prior approved k2!"her father backed out of signing" Oh well at least I am not alone in my frustrations LOL :star:

Congratulations PSDAVID!!! Very happy for you :)

How was your interview?

Do you know when you are moving? Did you check the validity of your visa? It should be 6 months but it's best to check.

Congrats again!!

More fun with NVC. They sent an email asking for the I-864 instead of the I-864w. The woman I talked to at NVC did not know who was allowed to file the I-864w and said I should just file the I-864. Will try and get to the bottom of this.

LUCY4 - I will let you know how this goes as I think you will be in a similar position.
