Oh I wish I could tell you I had a completed case and was in line for an interview. I got the dreaded checklist. Apparently there are two legal kinds of BC in the DR. We thought we had the right one. Sent it to USCIS approved no problem. Submitted to NVC with all the other papers. Should have been case closed 3 days ago, but no! We have the wrong kind of BC. So, luckily, we find this out while we are still here. Went to county office, ordered the right one. Sent it by courrier to capital for certification. Will get it back Saturday. Will scan it and email to my friend in the states who is a bilingual lawyer and she will translate it. So, when we arrive Wednesday morning next week, I can over night it to NVC with copy and translation. Of course then we wait for it to be reviewed. I imagine this will set us back at least two weeks. Ugh!!! Just trying to take it all with a grain of salt. I am dreading the wait for the interview. It appears its another 2-2.5 months for the actual interview. What scares me most is that they could wait until the interview to ask for DNA. The request doesn't concern me at all becuase I know it will be positive but it could set us back again. Possibly 3 months. Any luck on signing on to payment site to see IV? I saw the payment available before I got the email saying our DS3032 was accepted. Did you check?

I did check this morning, but I just checked again and guess what the status is missing...which is what happened the day before they showed the payment available to pay. OHH OHHH now im excited again. I wonder how long after I get them the package does it take to get an interview in jamaica??? Anyone know???? OMGOODNESS!

I appreciate the heads up about calling Western Union, we use a different service to send money to Mexico but I'm sure they can provide some kind of record too and I kept some receipts. For the last year though, we've just been having my husband's sister deposit money in the mom's account so it saved us the wiring fees (the sister runs a store we opened in Mexico so the bank account is in her name). We use Rebtel for cheap int'l calls so I could print off the monthly bill statement that shows the calls to his son's home. He hasn't been able to see his sons since 2008 so we have almost no photos too.

Yippie, my husband called the phone number on the money transaction receipts that I had kept and they were able to help. They emailed my husband a form to request a copy of all of his transactions to Mexico, there was even a block to check to have a formal paper copy sent for immigration purposes and everything so I'm guessing this is a pretty common request. I asked for the email version first to make sure that it has everything included and then I'll request the formal paper copy be mailed. Another checkmark on the list though!
